I think most owners actually have a negative effect on their bike in this regard.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 9:07 amDo some people need a bike for that?Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 9:06 am They're also good for lookin' cool, which is the job most often asked of them.

Re: Harley Davidson
Thats gone now, so either you bought it or you're going to have to buy the one you test rode. A couple of plusses on that, it's got what looks like progressive shocks and a larger tank. Win! If you do buy it, ditch those hideous bars and get a set of californian/beach bars fitted.Docca wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 2:27 pm so now it's between that one just above and the on tie rack posted previously: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Harley-David ... 7675.l2557

Re: Harley Davidson
I will say, the test ride was hilarious (as In fun). Weird with feet forward, weird with world rumbling around you.
Sounds fab. Handles? well, difficult to really test because I was quite nervous about binning it. Did 40 minutes though and thoroughly enjoyed it.
My back slightly ached at the end, so that other bobber is completely ruled out now.

Re: Harley Davidson
Its more natural way to sit, but some folk don't like it as bumps travel up your spine. I got on with it just fine and prefer it in many ways. I did find going back to a conventional bike felt ridiculous, like I was falling forward and couldn't help but put weight through my wrists.Docca wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 2:53 pm I will say, the test ride was hilarious (as In fun). Worse thing about the sportsters is the brakes, or lack thereof. On my one, it was the model that you could for a 4 pot caliper off of a xr1200 too and that was brilliant, but there isn't enough clearance on any other model. Dunno if they are improved since my model as my bike was 2013.
I loved the Harley experience and will have another some day. As forgiving as Mrs T is I don't think it'll go down well if I add one to the stable. I've never ridden any other bike that si so identifiable by its sound. If you get the chance ride along with group ride out. Un-be-fucking-lieveble! Dunno why but the Policenever bother you for loud exhausts?

Re: Harley Davidson
It's exactly the reason mine was cheap. Poorly shot photos and a rather short description that made no real reference to the tuning parts fitted. He had it for sale for a few weeks and I was the only one who rang him.Taipan wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 11:30 amLol,incredible isn't it. If I had kept it, I'd have put a Harrison Billet caliper on the front. Amazing brakes.

Thoughts? It’s 20 years old and when I did a check on it earlier, it came up with ‘miles 10k less now than in….‘. Assuming that’s the Bobber Bros custom point though.
Picking the bottom one up tomorrow morning.
