If you can find one, try and get one of the open airbox kits - give loads more air box volume (capacity and induction noise!).
Perhaps get it to someone that has the AxOne kit to check which map is loaded (unless it has a Power Commander?) - a lot of people fit Akra's etc but don't bother switching to the 2nd map loaded in the ECU

The factory RSV I had is still (in my mind) the fastest bike I've ever ridden, I've since ridden more powerful bikes but the raw visceral feeling of speed on that thing was hair raising. When I first got it I took it out on a long straight road that is quite narrow and gave it full throttle, the road seemed to narrow and converged into a point that looked like it was a foot off the front wheel, I had to slow down and get a grip of my senses, I'd never experienced that before.

Mine doesn't feel like that, it feels it's on a bungee rope but I'm excited to try it when it does all work

I spoke to AP this morning and they recommend having it tuned for the akras if it hasn't already been done. I've booked it in but they can only fit it in early Feb which isn't a massive issue.

Looking at the receipts though it looks like they have already done this to the bike since the exhaust was fitted so I've emailed the previous owner to see if he can recollect.

New plugs and air filter will arrive this week. The plugs look fine but there's no way to tell visually if plugs are ok or not. The air filter looks brand new so it's unlikely to be that.

When I lifted the tank at lunch time, the high pressure fuel hose looks new and the return looks fine. I pulled the water drain hoses and there's no corrosion so that all looks good.

I'll fit the plugs first and then go from there.

May already have been mentioned but throttle body balancing is critical on them too, front and rear cylinder have a different setting.

I have a receipt for that being done in April of this year. If all else fails I'll get AP to do it again and then trace the issue if that doesn't sort it in February when it's booked in.

I remember the difference having AP workshops set up the CO levels and balancing the throttle bodies on the Falco after fitting a new chip, open airbox and full exhaust system. It went from being actually quite angry and unpleasant to ride to surfing on a wave of torque.

Fitted new plugs and an air filter although the stuff that was on there looked fine. Took it for a run and felt great until about half an hour in and it started to miss again. My guess is therefore either coils or fuel pressure. Any thoughts? It accelerates hard and faultlessly for the first half an hour or so.

Fitted the Oberon clutch slave is it feels marginally lighter but will investigate the master recommended in the thread.

I thought that so stopped and opened the filler and there was no sound of air. Also I checked the breathers and they were fine. It's so sharp a hesitation and pick up that it feels like an ignition issue, I think that it would be softer if it were fuel... maybe.

Had similar on my new-to-me BMW. Turned out to be a bad sidestand switch that would intermittently tell the ECU that the stand was down. The cut outs were only for a split second, but as you described, pretty harsh and immediate.
Not sure how that would match your symptoms of having a half hour timer on it though. Maybe a coil breaking down, or something else quitting when it gets hot.

Pound to a pinch it'll be the short fuel hose inside the tank, they degrade over time and produce a multitude of different, and often erratic, symptoms-definitely something that needs to be ruled out and the first place I'd be looking- there's a good thread on it here

I made a short lead to remove the sidestand switch. I also pulled the fuel pump but the hoses looked ok. I've ordered some new ones and a fuel filter anyway just in case. I also bought a 2nd hand coil set and will try that.

I couldn’t be arsed to change one thing at a time as it takes too long to make the bike misbehave. So I bypassed the side stand, replaced the main fuel filter and the hoses in the tank and cleaned the tea bag filter. I also put some brand new fuel in it and some injector cleaner. Took it out for a run and learned nothing as it’s far too slippery (it turns out) to slam the throttle wide open in any gear trying to make it hesitate and then leap forward. It did run really nicely though and accelerated well but I’ve no idea of I’ve fixed it. It’s off to AP in a couple of weeks for a tune and a good going over.

Made a right mess of it so had to clean it again but at least it’s not embarrassingly shitty for when I take it to Tamworth.

Oh and I saw four other bikes and none was a early 80s Kawasaki.

Couple of GSs (obviously as despite the coffee house memes you can certainly rely on some of them to keep on trucking), some huge tourer thing that I couldn’t identify through the spray and a mt07 I think that I waved by as I was clearly holding him up
