Apart from an Arai large is 59-60cm and an X Lite large is 60-61cm, but I do have to get the 5mm liner for an Arai, so I'm guessing I'm about 60cm.

Sportsbikeshop are doing 100 quid off this one. Colours are right for your bike too.

Buying a helmet to match the bike, how passé.

I know, it's a very middle aged thing to do.
It's the first time I've had a helmet that matches my bike and jacket, it shows a complete lack of taste.

It's arrived, the outside paintwork is very nicely finished, but the colour scheme is a bit garish
The fit of the lining isn't as good as an Arai and is an arse to get back in if you take it out.
It fits me better than an Arai
The visor fitting is better than an Arai and vision is better as the visor is wider.
The sun visor is better than the one on my Arai, the Arai's one is an after thought
The lining is adjustable, not sure how much use this as I've got it on the biggest setting.
The cheek pads have an emergency removal feature, but I think this just makes them awkward to fit.
I'll find out what it's like on the bike after Moto GP

I'm off to Sports Bike Shop in Leeds in a bit, I might give one a try. I'm still not totally sold on internal sun visors.

I'm not convinced it's of much use, and it spoils the finish of the crash helmet in the area it comes down from.
But you could live your Top Gun fantasies out with it.

HJC medium is smaller than Arai medium, I thought I was going to be stuck in it forever!

Been out for a 40 mile ride to n the X Lite
Comparison with Arai Chaser V pro
Lighter
Quieter
Sun visor is a lot better, not as dark and doesn't make any noise
Putting the sun visor up and down is easier, but don't try to do it at 80mph on a naked bike
Ventilation is worse, probably why it's quieter
There's less turbulence at speed, my head isn't getting gently shaken like it was with the Arai
Vision is better because the visor aperture is a different shape, more side vision, but I noticed that the helmet comes down further on my forehead
In short, the only thing I prefer about the Arai is the better ventilation, and I'll get used to the X Lite
I've been using Arais as road and track helmets for 30 years, so this is a big change for me

Just remembered, the X Lite has more ear room as well, but less cheek room, weird things to notice, I'm wondering if I'm part hamster, part elf.

I wouldn't buy a lid without one now. Can't be arsed with changing visors and I can ride with the main visor up and the dark one down giving me almost as much ventilation as riding visor up but without worrying about a wasp in the eye at 30mph. The Shoei one wasn't very dark at all but the Shark one is just right for me, not totally dark but cuts glare just right.

Been out for a 90 minute ride with the X Lite this evening, it's much nicer to ride with than my Arai, because it's quieter and fits better I'm not getting tired like I was with the Arai.
