Re: The Big Black Bus
My F800R had the bonk eye GS lights and it came to me fitted with a clear, not mesh, guard. The guy I got it from said on the F800 and GSs the high mudguards were responsible for batting stones etc into the expensive headlights and the guards were well worth having. Not sure how true that is, but I could see a merit in his reasoning?

I'll probably get a cheapo off Ali x at some point. Some have a coloured bit that covers the running light area, like a letter C backwards.
Gonna make friends with it tomorrow and get some sexy pic's.

Have you adapted to the engine bars and place your feet differently or did you eventually remove them @KungFooBob ?KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 9:19 pm
Almost every time I stop at lights or a junction and put my foot down, I bang my shins on the head guards, you can't really tell from the pic above, but they stick out quite far back from the heads. I think I'll take them off and put some nice carbon covers on the rocker covers.
Having ridden my GS on Saturay for the first time my left shin is still smarting. Thankfully the right shin has eased
I may have to fit longer boots for my next ride

Re: The Big Black Bus
I've adapted my riding accordingly, it was the cheapest option.
After a few rides of consciously remembering to keep my shins out of the way it's become almost natural.

Re: The Big Black Bus
Well it's been almost a year and 3k miles, today is the 2nd time ever I've ridden it without a pillion, the first being the ride back from the shoppe.
1. It's quite quick. Saw 130mph on the Grimethorpe Bypass without even trying... I suppose on paper it makes 5bhp more than my old Fireblade!
2. It'll power wheelie in 2nd... for a teeny bit before the computer stops you. It doesn't stop you in Enduro Pro
3. Cruise control doesn't work in Enduro Pro.
4. Once you select a riding mode, you have to pull the clutch in to engage it. I should have known that really.
5. It's ridiculously planted, even at silly speeds on very bump roads. Nothing seems to tie it in knots.
6. Can anyone smell piss?
