Yebbut...'they fit the end cap'...how?
(Which, I guess is the question you were asking in the first place).

Surely they don't glue it on? Is it the riveted straps that just clamp it in?

Yes it appears that the end cap is a stepped shape. So it slides into the sleeve until the wider step hits the end of the can sleeve, and then the rivets go through the sleeve into the end cap and hold it there, iyswim?

Gotcha. Drilling a hole and sorting a grommet rather than drilling the eyelet rivets has to be the simplest way then eh?

Probably cheaper to get some wireless speakers hooked up playing engine noises for you and leave the exhaust alone
Bloody noisy Essex boys
Or a lollipop in the spokes.

I'm a few days and a full tank of juice into the bike now, so what can I say or add at this point? Well, it won't be staying that's for sure. Getting on and off of it is very difficult with my knackered knee, so I guess at some point I'm just not going to be able to ride it? But, I do hope that isn't anytime soon as I've come to really like this bike!
I like anything that does what it is needed for well, and this certainly does. Very easy to ride, ridiculously so, and lovely and smooth through the traffic. I'm almost used to the riding position now and no longer feel awkward about where to put my feet and enjoy changing between the two options!
Yes, as predicted, the wide bars do hinder progress at times when filtering, but I've grown to like the comfort of them.
The seat is one of the most comfortable I've ever had on a bike and a complete contrast to the ones on the NCX which are one of the most uncomfortable I've ever had!
Again the single display is on ef the best I've had on abike. Easily readable with a rev counter you can actually see, even though its almost redundant in use on an actor!
The height adjustable screen is pretty good too. On its lower setting, I can feel some wind blast, but I don't get the buffeting which sounds like someone drumming on my lid that I do on a lot of bikes!
Front suspension feels like a pogo stick when bouncing it up and down at standstill. It feels way too soft, but on the move, it soaks up London's put holes very well. Again, no complaints in this dept.
Whilst I'm obviously going to miss that lovely mid-range punch of the MT, I've learned that a flick of the mode switch into any of the 3 sport modes gives me more than enough response for what I need. It appears the engine is giving me just under 70mpg which is always good, if a little down on the NCX? Once again, no complaints in this dept.
So I don't really have anything to criticise it over and its working out very well for me. Parking next to a kerb helps with the getting on and off and I hope it will for some time yet. I have a feeling its going to make its way into my top 5 bikes. Its already in the top 10...

Yes, it'll get replaced - eventually! It's who pays for it that's causing the delay!

I thought i'd broke it this morning! I must have knocked it into S-mode without realising. What I also didn't know is it retains the last selected S-mode you used, as opposed to reverting back to S1. So the last mode I used was S3 which is when it changes down quicker and holds the gears longer. So I pulled away from the lights and it just stayed in 1st gear revving its nuts off and dint appear to want to change gear!! Took me a few minutes to realise what was happening! Most disconcerting!

I modified it today. I put a black backed 8x6 number plate on it! Should be faster and more economical now as there's less drag!
