Because the guy was a total asshole. Thought the correct way to motivate the staff was to threaten them with being fired EVERY FUCKING DAY. When he retired he walked in on a Tuesday morning & told them he wouldn't be opening after Saturday. Worked for the guy & discovered the rate of pay was $5/hr less than he stated when I got my first (& last) pay check.
