I know! But - I still needed to ask to be sure!! I know one end of a bike from the other but the bits in between, well, if they don't look like they normally do, I'm not certain that they are what I think they are (or something like that!!) LOL

I going to hazard a guess that that is the original clutch fluid from Bologna.
Surprisingly it still works....in a fashion.
Fresh fluid should see it good!

Re: Monster job!! : Forum build, repair, FUNDING REQUEST
So with work on a scooter cancelled due to bad weather, I turn my steely gaze onto the fork leak on Myrtle.
Quick flick through the book of lies as to how it comes off, get the sump wrench on it, nope not moving. Get a better purchase on the bugger, nope. Drop bike back onto the floor, I now lift the whole front end up off the deck.
In the end I had to get swmbo to stand on the front wheel before the bloody thing moved.
After that everything else was a doddle. Fork off
And then, quite literally, it fell apart in my hands! The oil was........interesting!!!!!

Heres one I made earlier
As for the oil, came out really clear, suspiciously clear iyswim. As we got to the end of the pour, a load of black gunge coughed its way out!
Clutch is bled up too!- weeksy

LOL
The bike? Almost! The guy told me it had been stood for a couple of years but he'd had it running a couple of weeks before I picked it up - it did only cost 200£

Re: Monster job!! : Forum build, repair, FUNDING REQUEST
I bought it despite the condition that I could see cos it was pre smashed shoulder and I wanted to race it. I also planned to try and do a lot of the work myself so I could learn. And if I hated it/it didn't run I could flog bits to the racers.
But, I'm much happier that it is going to run and it's a good position for my wimpy shoulder muscles!!

If I'd had two working arms back when I first brought it over here, it think it would have been ok (ish) - but 4-5 years of shuffling between the back of a van in winter and a garage in the summer hasn't helped at all!! LOL

Sure 200 quid doesn't get you a decent set of tyres now,the bike was for nothing so any result is a win.

The clutch fluid always goes black. The new stuff will be black within a month or two of using it.
Before Brexit I used to get my Monster bits and pieces from Stein Dinse, they've got really good fiches on the sites to identify part numbers. Ducati parts prices are very random, some stuff is very cheap, some expensive. Quite often Stein Dinse, new parts are a lot cheaper then ebay, worth checking. Also good for finding the new part number for discontinued parts.

That looks soooo awesome.
Pretty sure I haven't put a pic of the bike in its full 'glory' on here from before I dropped it off in the west (southwest?)
This was when I picked it up years ago!! Shows a better comparison of what Demannu has done!! x
