I remember when I had an AR50 when I was 16 and had no idea that the chain even needed adjusting.
Some long-hair noticed it was slack at Bourne Market and showed me how to adjust it with the the standard tool kit.
If that happened these days I'd be turning up the Home Counties accent and threatening to have him thrown out of his cottage for his temerity!

Weirdly the best ones I've had were bikes I'd never buy because I would get quickly bored with them, an SV650 and a 660 Yamaha MT03, both were great for a day, but a day was enough.

Quick update on the Trident. Not done many miles this year, maybe 5/600 or so. Bought some rear foot rest plates which I think really tidies up the back of the bike. Also bought a Triumph tail bag. 10l capacity and really easy to fit. Can be taken off in seconds if I don't want to use it. Couple of photos from todays ride, found a nice quiet lane in the middle of the Peak District somewhere near Buxton.

Well I thought I would finish this thread up with a bit of a summary of the Trident. Owned for almost 2 years and my first big bike, I can't praise it enough. Really good in every aspect, great engine, good handling, easy to ride, and looks pretty cool. Other than the rear light fiasco, it didn't miss a beat. Servicing was cheap, it probably averaged about 55mpg over the two years, and it always put a smile on my face. I would recommend it to anyone as a first big bike or a second bike. I was sad to see it go, in fact I wasn't in when Wigan Yamaha collected it, but I couldn't pass up the deal on the SP.
Anyway, I always remember the Trident very fondly. The add from Wigan is now up, someone is getting a great little bike.

Not a bad price, about the same as I paid for my Suzuki when it was 18 months old and done more miles
