Are embroidered shirt initials still a thing? The Americans used to love them - normally on one cuff. Sometimes on the breast of the shirt. It always struck me as important if you occasionally forgot who you were ...

Monogrammed accessories were good enough for Jay Gatsby. He would have had a personalised numberplate now I'd guess.
