Used to be 25+ per week (sometimes it was per day!) but I've cut back considerably since April, for no other reason than I just can't be arsed anymore. Imbibe a few beers on the weekends (2/3 Fri, 3/4 Sat, 2/3 Sun), but maybe one beer per evening on a school night. Even if I'm on an overnighter with work, whereas I used to cane it I simply cannot be bothered.

Is now a good time to mention the three bottles of Amaro that I've just brought back from holibobs...?

Campari is a bitter, and an essential ingredient to a Negroni. (1 part each of gin, sweet vermouth and Campari. Slice of orange and ice)

Amaro is a digestivo that is agro-dolce, bitter-sweet. Over ice, after dinner, for gentlemen only.

There are some who maintain a Negroni can be made with Amaro. Those people are not welcome in my house.

I heard copper wire was invented when Yozza and Gremmers had an argument over a penny.

Well I reckon my total units for the 4 day weekend is approximately 34 . Seems to be about 10 units per evening at home 3 days, on Sunday 4 units. Next week we're down Cornwall for 7 nights so this will increase of course.

Reckon alcohol is my weak point, never smoked, relatively fit, so maybe I need to chop a day off, think I'll bin Sunday drinks.

Seriously though, this 14 unit thing, what is it actually based on, any hard evidence it's bad for us to go over. I was once told to have 3 dry days and that's what I do.

I'm now worried I may not be drinking enough.

It was your Port thread that made me buy the cheese! I kept thinking about how long ago it must have been since i've had a bit of stilton and reckoned it must be 3-4 Christmases ago, so i went out and bought a bit. Lovely it was too!

Can't get stilton here but there is some very very lovely blue that I've found before - and I have some biscuits suitable !!

If you like that, I'd recommend Ease Up, also by Adnams. Bit harder to find (I say that, but our local Waitrose, and Tesco, and Adnams shop have it), but it's like a better version of Ghost Ship.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that it's the beer I've been drinking every weekend for about 6 or 7 years now. If they ever stop making it, I'm fucked.
