I am indeed. TBF, i have been on bike forums for 20+ years so I have read a lot of those opinions! (And my mum told me was too fat, laughed too loudly, had too big a smile/grin - when I was 16 ish - that didn’t help much 🙄🙄🤣🤣)

Oh and I worked with those sort of people for years.

But, I’m learning it’s all about confidence and mines coming back 😊😊

I will make yr tea but you can get yr own sodding bickies 🤣🤣🤣

(That’s a lie, I’ll probably make the biscuits as well 🤣🤣🤣🤣)

Spanish tea! I now see the merits of bringing your own tea bags when going abroad. I only drink tea and sparking water so don’t have coffee options. So slap my thinghs and call me Twinnings Tai!

People who say 'atherlete' when they mean 'athlete'.

My wife gets annoyed when people say immejetly instead of immediately. Now she’s pointed it out I can’t help notice how many news presenters etc do.

I've found Twinings Everyday suit me best when traveling, that's after many years of trying different brands.

And why is it you can only buy that quintessentially English brand of tea, Lipton, over in forrin lands?

I get people to bring over big boxes of Yorkshire Tea, and every trip back to blighty I always fill every spare orifice with the stuff. ;) And I'm not even really into tea that much.

In les supermarches, hotels and restaurants you either get those tiny liptons things or acres and acres of insipid herbal and fruit teas. I wouldn't even consider ordering tea in one of the numerous Salon de Thé, it's just fashionable nonsense. Green tea and macarons FFS. I'd rather have a pint of Starbucks mediocre 'coffee'.

Liptons were Scottish.

(It's now part of that soap powder lot, Unilever. We get PG Tips instead :( ).

Inconsiderate dickhead drivers…

I pulled up at a regular bottleneck and rather than press on, I flashed out a car stuck in a side road who promptly stalled. As I waited for him to get started and move on, three dickheads behind me decided to overtake me rather than be patient for a further 10 seconds.

I dunno, 16yo Noggin sounds a lot better than the various teenage prototype chavettes I ran about with back in the early 90s.
LOL, I definitely couldn't hvae been called a chavette - my mother was a bit posh, so I wasn't allowed to be like that (think it was before them anyway!  ). But , you say the nicest things! :D :D

I doubt I have any photos to hand of that era - and TBF, I could do without the "Oh dear look how fat you got" comments! (Despite what my mother said, I was a slim 16-18 year old :angelic-green: )

Since we’ve been in Spain, my wife has said it’s like we’re invisible as we get passed over for service and told “we’re full” inrestaraunts that seemed to have obvious empty tables.

. I’d dismissed her claims until we ended up speaking to a bunch of people last night who were all saying the same. We we were then enlightened by a guy who told us in a lot of Spain there is a rebellion against tourism as a high percent of new builds go to holiday lets or bought by oversea buyers. 🫤

So there you have it, Spain is the new Cornwall!😁

Wear a sombrero and torture a donkey to death. They'll take you for a local.

Ahh. The tourism paradox. My mate from Cornwall sums it up nicely when he reverts back to West Country burr and says, 'Bloody Grockles, coming down here, causing traffic mayhem, pushing up prices, buying the houses, not respecting the locals....what's that dear? Another cream tea? Of course, m'dear, that'll be £12 please'.

Doesn't Venice charge entry for non residents now?

Just like Clovelly! Which isn't even in Cornwall.

You know me, I'm a lover of all things Italian*, but you'd have to pay me to go to go to Venice. It's like Renaissance Disney with occasional flooding thrown in. Ghastly place, only made ghastly due to the number of visitors and the businesses that leech upon them. They are also looking to close down a lot of the tourist-tat shops, as one local politician put it, "Se vendi merda, attiri le mosche", "If you sell shit, you attract flies"

*Not tripe, mind. There's a bloody limit.
