Re: In todays news...
TBH it's not Screwd's posts that I find difficult. At least he posts explanations of stuff - I might not always understand everything he writes but if I have a bit of brain I do try and sometimes go back and try again. Might not agree, but at least he does go somewhere with reasons why he has those views!
It's the redneck style posts I struggle with - no balance and no explanations, just - everyone else is stupid/crooked etc and we love Trump!! Or just a link that half the time I either don't want to risk clicking or can't read when I do because it's a firewall or paid read - that's just lazy! Copy and paste FFS if you think it's interesting enough to share!!
But, I am fully able to scroll past if I can't deal with it, so I'd guess others can too

Re: In todays news...
I don't understand the subject, because I don't care. There are probably 100s of forums that do care about Biden, Trump, US politicians etc. The forum userbase have shown time and time again, this is not really that place. I don't see how that's our/their fault. People come here for a bit of chat, banter, bikes, bullshit. Not to have this shit rammed down their throats time and time again.Potter wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 5:00 pmHe takes some subjects to a place where I don't always agree, but I think it's genuinely hilarious that people think they are telling him "home truths" when they aren't even intelligent enough to understand the subject.weeksy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 4:54 pm
Sometimes you have to tell someone a home truth. It's not like he's being abused here he's being told to give it a rest posting 1 type of subject. No one is hounding him out, no one pulls him up when he talks 3D printing, engineering, lathe restoring, motorbikes.
Know your audience.

I think certain people are wise and clever enough to understand that this place engages far more readily with bike-related stuff, and those self-same people (as far as I can tell) are really, really interested in bikes and have a lot of really interesting stuff, thoughts, projects that would be lapped up on here. And yet they choose to spend their majority of the time banging on about Biden politics and then accusing the rest of us of bullying if we ask them to kindly STFU or at least not refer back to it in EVERY SINGLE THREAD.

Chris Kaba aka Mad Itch (think itchy trigger finger) was a drug dealer with a history for firearms use.
He led them on a chase involving 5 police cars and a helicopter.
His enemies aka "opps" said "RIP but he was gonna get killed eventually" by them apparently.
He lived a life that got him to this ending, as unfortunate as it is, he plays a part in this. He wasn't some innocent kid as his family are trying to portray him as.

Can you become Brazilian through training?Potter wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 12:19 pm https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-y ... e-66890247
"An original Calendar Girl is training to become a Brazilian jiu-jitsu teacher at 74 "to help women and girls defend themselves".
"It's so important for women to know that they have this power", she said."
This the kind of silly shit that gets people messed up, they roll around on a mat and then think they're competent against a determined attacker, so they get an awful shock when they happen upon an almighty smack in the mouth by someone who isn't playing by the rules.
Fighting for self defence is a massive myth.
If you want to teach self defence then start with a 500m sprint and situational awareness.

There is an awful tradition in UK history of armchair warriors and experts second-guessing people that had to make split second life/death decisions and discharge their weapons.
Let the general public face the repercussions of this silliness and we'll see a quick demand for police and military to be left alone to do their jobs.
The CPS have all the evidence in their possesion, including body-cam footage, and have come to the decision that the officer should be charged with murder. Do you know something that the CPS doesn't about this particular case?

The whole thing is bollox, what is an armed soldier going to do when a car tries to ram them driven by someone know to carry firearms ? Someone needs to stand up and point all this out.Potter wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 1:38 pmI hope they all do.wheelnut wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 8:11 pm Apologies for the DM link

Re: In todays news...
It seems a political decision. The IOPC have bottled it and handed the decision over to a jury so when the riots happen they can say it was down to the jury. It stinks.Potter wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 1:38 pmI hope they all do.wheelnut wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 8:11 pm Apologies for the DM link

This is unfair on soldiers, they aren't trained for this and can't refuse orders even though following orders is not an excuse.

I have massive sympathy for our law enforcers, having to "correctly" deal with the ever growing number of arseholes within our community of all ages.
I'd feel like shooting anyone who doesn't do as I request. Doing what you are told isn't very hard.
