A bike with such a bad paint job the first owner didn't even ride it before poking his eyes out with a stick and therefore needing to sell it

I'm trying to think how that is better than a standard Hornet, I can't think of anything redeeming about it

Yoshimura stickers add at least £2k and 15bhp.

Yoshimura stickers on a Honda, FFS any fool knows it's Moriwaki stickers on a Honda.

Just remembered, I've got an HRC throttle tube that would fit on that Hornet, they could have had genuine Honda race parts on it, I had it on my CB400SF, yep a 60,000 bike commuter bike with HRC parts.

Was what I said to the proprietor of the Ducati garage when they had one in there when I went to pick up my SFV2... Bear in mind it's just an SFV4 with a gopping paint job, some tacky wheels, and a limited number plaque and a tenuous link to Lamborghini and they were charging people 2.5x the price for them over a normal SFV4 (which isn't a cheap bike anyway!) when new...

Only of any value to anyone who's a Lamborghini nut that's also into motorbikes sadly for the owners... Which as a Ducati fan absolutely grips my shit as it's just a tacky sell out model rather than an actual Halo bike...

So, potentially, a powered advertising slogan? Created at relatively low cost yet generating lots of attention, some possibly from Lambo owners for whom it will cost relatively little - or they might see other models and buy one of those instead.

And bonus payback if they sell any.
Even bland can be a type of character

Yup

EVERYTHING I hate about modern consumerism, and I'm even more pissed off that Ducati pander to this bullshit... But there we go!

Ducati is probably an epitome of modern consumerism, along with Belstaff, Dainese, etc.
They're at the higher end of ostentatious consumer projects and yet still manage to be mostly about the brand and the image it projects rather than the actual things themselves.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it, if you've earned it then spend it, but the image is getting a bit too on top these days, it's no accident that most well-heeled execs who fancy getting into bikes end up doing a DAS and then buy a Ducati.

Another couple from the Dungdeal Vintage Bikes listing.

First is a Honda XLR250 Baja, purely for the comedy value of the front mudguard -

And next is an abomination of a Triumph T140 -

I had one of those mudguard extenders on one of my bikes. They were on-trend in 83 or possibly 84 I think. All they did was make the mudguard incredibly heavy because it caught so much mud!
