I agree with the previous models. I have always had a bit of trouble sleeping and wanted to monitor my sleep with the app, but then it'd be flat for the next day. But with my new one it easily lasts over 2 days, just one of the reasons why i'm so chuffed with it.

My Garmin monitors me 24h per day and lasts nearly 30 days between charges (if I don't use the GPS stuff, in which case each day of available charge is equivalent to 1h). 2 days is just shockingly bad.
Actually, its longer as its still on 43%, but I don't need it to be longer than that. After all it is an extension of my phone, which is my primary use for it, so I expect it should mirror the battery life of my phone or thereabouts? Anyway, it fits the bill for me so i'm (well) happy.

I plan on getting a NATO strap for my Speedy too, I just never seem to get around to it. I've had it on a few different straps, it looks good on basically anything.
Probably because it's just black/white and therefore very hard to clash with
I've even got the NASA spacesuit one which laps your wrist twice.

It's not a proper NATO style one like I have on my Seiko that loops under the watch body and can be removed without any tools. It's more like a tradition strap... But it does have pins that don't need tools to move, like the strap on my wife's smart watch.

Interesting - I was wondering what it used (Swatch usually use a system that's specific to them).

The original Swatch strap used standard pins. I used a small screw driver with a v notched blade to release the tension. The new strap has little tangs you can push with your nail to release them.

Saw yesterday that there is a plan for a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms x Swatch coming - reckon it's going to land harder than the Speedy version. Will keep my eyes open for one but not paying well over the odds for one though....

There are shit loads of Seiko mods on Instagram. As you might expect the Submariner and GMT Master II are the main sources of inspiration.
Some of them look alright, but mostly they look like fakes rather than homages IMO.

I can confess that I have never, ever, looked at Instagram.
I am not too worried about 'genuine', but some mods I have seen appeared to have been assembled with a hammer.

50th anniversary Casio Casiotron are available for pre order. I used to do a bit of buying and selling of Casio watches and do love a Casio, this one is going to be around £500 so a bit more than I'd spend. A lightly used one should see your money back in a couple of years, maybe even a small profit.

I agree, they do, but these are a limited edition priced to appeal to the enthusiast. When digital watches first appeared a Rolex would have been a cheap option, a quick Google says these were around £600 in 1974, not a cheap watch. Casio never really stopped making most of their iconic digital watches, you can still buy calculator watches brand new for around the £50 mark. The Al-Qaeda bomb timers are still under £20.
