Ordered a variator locking tool from Amazon which went missing and Amazon refunded me and i've ordered another which should be here Friday. I got tracking information from UPS saying my original parcel had been delayed?? Several promised but failed deliveries later I hounded UPS on twitter. Tonight I got that parcel which had been repacked? So assuming the other one turns up I can sell one of them and get one for free. I could also return it to the firm in France, but assume they will have been compensated/paid out by UPS? Anyway, i'm just stoked I've got the thing so I can fit the new belt and rollers etc.

Just counted 15 Bond Bugs going up the lane. That must be every road worthy one left.

When we have the motorway held for a bit I always get the bikes in front of any other vehicle, just for safety you understand!! They also get a heads up to get ready to go before I tell the cars!!
Many times I get the comment, “You ride a bike too then mate!!”

It was a smidge tame this morning, I think the rest of the bikes were worried about opening up off the line in front of 2 police cars still on scene.
S'far as I'm concerned they should be too busy to bother with me cracking on, so I won, whilst the rest just pootled off the line

I always point out that all the Police are at the job, so you have a clear road ahead!! I do remind them if any Police have left scene recently though.

The neighbours have cut down a large conifer that blocks the evening light from getting to a large part of the garden

Had a BBQ for dinner, wifey has gone inside to call her friend. I'm sitting in the garden with a glass of red, poking sticks into the chiminea and watching the bats start the evenings hunt.

I've finally had my job confirmed for this winter

I'll be going back to Courchevel to work for the same family I've been with for the last 4 years. The job was in jeopardy as they really want a couple, one strong cook / chef and one me to host/ drive/ manage the chalets etc.

Very very pleased to be heading back again

Tried a new local pub last night for our anniversary meal. The Fox @ Peasemore.

It was fab.. really nice. Steak and ale pie... not sure how they got so much steak in it...it was rammed and massive ! Whitebait starter was lovely too. The Sticky toffee pudding was only an OK... but i can forgive that.
