So, that'll be my insurance up even more.

Last night I was waiting in the car park to pick my son up from Air Cadets. Car drives into the space on my left from behind my car so should have been very obvious there is a car to their right. It's a car park with a middle aisle so you can drive straight through. I look over as no one has got out and I can't see the drivers face as I realised they are looking out their left window at the Charging sign. I'm just thinking, I hope they don't drive off whilst looking left, when the driver faces the front and I think, oh good. Just as they instead of pulling forward and then right, cut the turn and drag their car across my front wing/bumper Magic.

So now I have to report that to Bennetts who will no doubt load my premium even more as my bike insurance is due the 23rd and I'll have to declare it. To add salt to the wounds it was only last week I was thinking that it'll be nice to not have to declare the time someone drove into my parked car when in the street outside my house in July 2020 Here's to another 5 years of loaded premiums via another non fault claim.

Car parks are evil places. It would appear a lot of drivers suddenly turn off any little spatial awareness and attention they possess. I bought a car years back when it was only 9 months old and sitting very tidy. Not far down the line there wasn't a panel on that car that didn't show damage,every one from supermarket car parks. Not one of the twats ever owned up either.

I mostly dgas about my cars,but I feel sorry for those folk into their wagons. Their hearts must be broken on a daily basis.

Yup I deliberately park as far away from anyone as possible. I'm the one that ends up a 2 min walk from the place I'm going to so I can not have anyone parked next to me or with loads of spaces around me. Usually come back to find all other spaces free except the idiot who chooses to park 2 mins away as well, but right next to me

In the 20 years I've been with my Mrs, between us our cars have been hit 8-10 times whilst parked in our road! Boils my piss.

Only up side was that for the first time ever I picked my son up in my car which is 9 years old. Rather than my Mrs far more expensive and new looking 3 year old car.

Good news is that all the insurance stuff seems sorted. She admitted liability so at least I can tell Bennetts it's a non fault claim. Bet it still costs me though.

Well colour me surprised. Called Bennetts, they added the claim and no change in premium! They did say its a re quote so could change if I didn't do it today speil stuff so renewed as only 2 weeks to go anyway

Popped into the garage for the first time in a week or so yesterday as wanted to check the tyre pressures on my car. Fugger me, the amount of condensation on the tool draws (old glass bedroom cabinets, who needs Snap-On ), lifted the bike cover and the bike was the same

Was taking the kids to Maldon for lunch, but when I got back took the cover off and dried the bike as best I could, was like I'd washed it, left it an hour and then put it away. Running water down the frame, engine cases etc. The joy of a block garage and change in temperature.

The weather has easily been nice enough to ride in for ages but round here there was loads of salt about and we hadn't had any real rain in nearly a month Then there was a short window of a week after it finally rained before I went to Thailand for 2 weeks and I needed an MOT. What with clearing work for the holiday I just decided to can it all until I got back

First off seeing as the bike was clean I finally fitted the R&G rad guard. I've had this one since July The first was bent and wouldn't fit so SBS gave me a new one but the bike was dirty and I didn't want to fit it to a dirty rad. First wash I forgot I had it and then it didn't get washed till Nov! I should of fitted it in the winter but who wants to sit in the cold. Must admit expected it to be a 5 min job but it was a fiddly little bastard to fit. First off I wanted to get the top bolts in to check fit before I put the little foam protectors on the inside (as the first guard was bent). That checked I took it back off and dropped one of the M6 screws down the back of the rad where it became stuck by the fan housing I managed to get it out after much cussing and then got it fitted but doing the nuts up tight was a faff as there was very little room to get the allen key in and no room for a little wrench so lots of tiny turns with a spanner. Anyway it's on

Refitted the battery and it fired instantly. Sounds ok, so hopefully the E5 is still good but won't know till I ride it. Going to take it in for MOT either Thurs/Fri and then biking season starts for me.

Got my trip to the peaks in June but thinking of doing something along the lines of maybe the Kent downs to St Leonards as I fancy seeing the ossuary there and then seen some RIDE mag routes along that coast from Dungeness to Winchester/South Downs area. Then overnight before trying to find a nice route coast-ish round to say Lyme Regis. Sadly my uncle died recently who I used to stay with in Yeovil but my cousin has offered me a bed whenever and she is in Mosterton so might keep up with the habit of bothering them as nice to have family to stay with and catch up whilst getting a ride in as well. Could make a nice 2-4 day ride pending routes.

I'm already back from Thailand, went over the kids easter hols. Was bloody awesome. Not been since my honeymoon 17 years ago and can't wait to go again.

Ladyboys, yes there were a few, must admit it's quite refreshing that it's not made a thing of, they seemed happy, other people didn't seem bothered. Not my cup of tea but good luck to em, live and let live and all that.

Was nice to see a place full of 2 wheelers again as well, as much of Asia is. I noted that the average Thai road is better than the average British road, although I did pass a sign saying 'Beware elephants and animals in the road', wouldn't fancy hooning round a corner to find Nelly on the racing line

MOT done, place in Welwyn opens at 6.30am and does them first come first served so got there just before 7 and was straight in. Bloke was saying the bike still looked new it's so clean, it ticked over to 8k miles as I came into Hertford.

Last night I finally switched over my scratched end plate from the exhaust from when I dropped it last April, a 2 min job...but did I mention I'm lazy Noticed I'm not far off the wear markers on the rear tyre. Not in need of immediate change, but think I'll do the tyres before I go away in June. The Road 5s have been on there for about 6k miles which I think is pretty good for a litre bike, reckon I'll get another 500-1000 miles maybe out of them. A lot will depend on profile and how much I ride before the trip but all good to use for now. Toying with switching to Angel GTs or Metz Roadtec 01SEs, but then I know I like the Road 5 and 6k miles+ is pretty decent as represents a couple of years riding at least going from recent use.

Looks like I'm free all day Sunday so think I'll head off to Heybridge for a coffee and then loop up to Dunmow way I think and see how I get on from there. I'll be properly rusty I'm sure and very un bike fit, my throttle control at 6.30am this morning was .

Want to visit Poulsons customs at some point as didn't even know it existed despite going to Maldon a fair amount, only open Sat though so will have to wait for another weekend. It's got a coffee shop so somewhere to go and have a shufty at some bikes. Freddie Dobbs visited last year but didn't come out till the winter when the Suzuki was tucked up in bed.

Looks like it's Late Nite at Krazy Horse tonight coinciding with the hottest day of the year so seems like a plan. Gonna meet my brother in Buntingford around 5ish and do a semi decent route up, have a look at some bikes/cars, have a moody burger and then ride back. Jobs a good un.

I went to that Ossuary last year when I was down that way. I didn't make a trip for it, I was just in the neighborhood. Interesting place.
