Some fucking moron walked up to one of the geyser pools at YellowStone & then seemed surprised that sticking her hand into boiling water caused severe pain... Idiots have fell in these & the flesh was boiled off their bones before they could be pulled out.
This is why they have signs everywhere telling you not to do that...

It looks like the NHS sick rota is still in full swing.
When I joined a large hospital I was told by a supervisor that there is a sick rota, each member of staff pre-books their sick leave and in general it's seen as acceptable to use this to add a couple of weeks or so onto your annual leave.
I was aghast and said it was basically stealing money from your employer via deception, he said "Look son, it's been this way forever, we all take a few extra weeks off and my advice to you is don't rock the boat".
When I worked for the NHS I was told by 'outsiders' about staff routinely having extra holidays by claiming sickness. I.'m sure there were some (?many?) who did so but I had fewer than 10 sick days across the 24 years* I worked there. Of course, everyone is guilty until proved innocent.

*not 10 days per year

Seventeen year old Algerian kid driving a Mercedes AMG, needlessly shot dead for failing to stop for police.

My first thought was, damn that's harsh, followed by: what's a 17 year old kid doing driving around in a £100k car?

I can't find any of the back story in the "news".

Anybody know?
His mum said he was killed for not having a licence....

Saying that, my transport when I was 21 was a Granada 24v Cosworth. It did tend to attract the attention of plod....
A 24 volt cosworth? So even then they had electric vehicles!
Why not? There were electric cars in the 19th century. They didn't catch on very well because of small battery capacity.

The 'sick leave entitlement' thing is just a swipe at NHS staff anyway. The sickness levels were pretty static (probably higher than other sectors but then, they're dealing with sick people all the time so no surprise there). Rising numbers of sick coincides with rising workload pressure, staffing shortages etc etc etc no surprise there either. Stress makes people ill.

(Have had numerous interfaces with our health systems in recent years :( and the people have all been bonzer. Their computer systems rather less bonzer).

It would be interesting to see what all those people were off sick with.

My (late) son's partner is a nurse (it's how they met, he was in hospital after crashing his mid life crisis bike) and she was off sick for most of last year. The NHS (or the Trust maybe) eventually admitted that they were the root cause of the problem. That certainly eased the pressure and she's back at work now.

Jeremy Clarkson's Meghan article was sexist to duchess, press regulator rules
All he did wrong was compare her with Nicola Sturgeon and Rose West, all the other complaints were dismissed including the article being inaccurate.

I hope it costs him dear.

Clarkson is one of the worst for spouting his mouth off then bleating "I've said I'm sorry so that should be all right now." He needs to be told it's not OK.

I hate the word support.

Support gay folk
Support black folk
Support ginger folk

It's all bollox. I don't "support" anybody.

I do feel strongly that everyone is equal and we all have equal rights.

Doesn't mean I have to support anybody.

Yeah. I'm pissed off coz they're showing yacht racing instead of WSB :D

You’re supposed to stand with them.

You’ll have to find them standing somewhere, for that to work, though.

Yes, maybe a lot of fat stubbly perverts in women’s clothing would demand that people be kind and say they look like Megan Markle.

It's not just old men, most people know that the biological fact is a fact, regardless of whether someone else thinks it's an unkind thing to say.

If I put a dress on, Potter, will you call me Margaret and give me a kiss? ;)

PS, brimming with fact, a man in a dress, is a man.

I don’t do much hating, but if a man wants to earn my respect, pretending to be a woman is a disadvantageous position to start from.

He's gone full on trans now but he's not demanding other people conform to his views, he's changed his name and pronouns but says he isn't bothered if other people don't agree with him.
Sounds fine to me.

He's not doing it properly then. He should be demanding that people identify him as a woman, then shout and scream with rage at anyone who can see a man, in a dress. Then hound people down like they did with JK Rowling, shouting the misinformation they believe in lieu of biological fact.

I see what you're saying, you know exactly what kind of man you prefer and you like a big tough manly man, hairy chest and stinking of Brut33.

Grrrr :wub
I know some kinds of man that I don’t respect.
