It's a dreary grey place, you need to show your Covid pass to get in anywhere and masks at all times. You'd be better off in an Irish bar in London.

Wish I'd watched it now!! Got a text from a Kiwi mate (who always gives me stick in the 6 nations any time England, Scotland, Ireland or France lose!! )
It just said -
I'm still laughing at that!!
I wasn't sympathetic when I replied!! I think it was laughing faces and a shamrock
It just said -
Don’t say a f**ing word
Stupid game

Wife to work, daughter on a week long geography trip, me, well I'm listening to music, heading out later on to look at a bike, one with an engine! Rather excited, it will need a bit of work, but that is what winters are for, now to see if it is worth buying!

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.

On hold again to one of these shitty LF/PCR test companies
Got 2 Swiss guys who've flown over to do some work for me and the company hasn't delivered their test kits and are messing us around.

Re: A right now thread
Sitting here feeling a bit tired - some drunk person arrived to the building in the early hours and I think spent about two hours crashing around in the corridors - probably trying to find where they are staying, but damn they were loud
But - the forecast is wrong again. Sun's out so I just text a friend to meet for a coffee around lunchtime. He really wants to see the Monster and, since it's sunny, it seems silly not to go out!!
Bloody forecasting is pants here! But at least this time it's wrong in the right way!
It's changed for this week too, so I might get to ride down on Tuesday for my long day of stuff - rather than trying to get a lift!! LOL

Resting my back after moving kitchen things around. Got a fridge freezer in the lounge now. I want to gun out the last of the floor tiles but my wife has helpfully just put a wash load on!

Re: A right now thread
Cringing at a recent conversation.
I'm in the office today. I see my mate's daughter, who works here also. Get chatting and ask about her dad (fellow biker) and his place in Spain which he bought a couple of years back following his wife's untimely death from cancer.
Her: 'The decor in the villa is really tacky'
Me: 'But he must have chosen it'
Her: 'No his new wife did'
Me: 'He's remarried!? Good for him!'
Her: 'Not really, it's my mum's sister...'
During the awkward silence she could see me mentally processing this and all the questions that went with it...
Me: 'Hmmmm...'
Her: 'Yeah....'

I'm in a Wellbeing for STaff zoom meeting. It's all about your mental health and well-being. Boiling frogs. Bell Graphs etc. It's probably interesting, but I'm not really listening. I have the attention span of Homer Simspson.

Getting very excited as it's about to piss down. For next 2 days. All the barancos will flood and change the scenery.
Some pals have never seen it rain here.

Re: A right now thread
Getting miffed with the weather app on my phone. Since 10am this morning it's mostly said it's snowing. It fucking isn't!!!! Annoying cos we are all really excited for snow and it's not coming when forecast!! (And cos I put the bike away yesterday and could have ridden it today!!)
Also - quietly chuffed cos I bought a 'dated' whole chicken in the shop in the valley for less than 4€ earlier and it's currently roasting away in the oven!! I rarely buy chicken because it's quite expensive, but when I do I use it all then boil the bones for stock, so need to have space in the freezer before I buy one!!

Re: A right now thread
I'm at my Mum's as I'm staying the night to look after her. It's getting to the point where a decision may have to be made for her to move to a nursing home. It's been a tough week.
Work has offered voluntary redundancies with a good package - but only to sales and service, I'm in IT.
I hate my Mum's new washing machine as to save the planet, a hot wash has been sacrificed for a three hour lukewarm wash. How people with big households keep on top of the washing is anyone's guess.
Liver and bacon casserole in the oven, with asparagus tips and potato gratin.

Re: A right now thread
I've had that type of washing machine for years and it's just on longer, never been much of a problem even with kids creating big piles of washing but then I'm not waiting for it to finish so I can go home.
