It would've been a 790 due to cost. But a late model 790 isn't as cheap as I'd like.Deadpool2 wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 4:01 pm What was the debate in your head - i.e. what would you want to get instead? I am curious
I can't fault how it rides... it's a fab bike.... but it's more Lada Riva than it is Porsche 911.Taipan wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 4:13 pm You haven't really had any saddle time on this yet. Once the weather breaks and you get out on it more, I think you'll probably gel with it more? It does seem to be the Darling of the journos and they can't all be saying that without reason?

Get your frown faces back out. The tail tidy was irritating me and it's back to standard.weeksy wrote: Sat Jan 29, 2022 2:46 pm I know some may frown .....but...

Is that a problem, I'd get bored with a 70ish bhp road bike within a few months, weirdly I think it's a nice amount of power for a track bike, you have to thrash it to make progress.weeksy wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 7:48 pmTbh, I should have kept the xsrDodgy knees wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 7:29 pm I've never had a bike that I've been 100% happy with, fizzy aside. Not to many / most it's not, but yes it's a problem to me. I get my kicks at sub 100mph. Have for many years.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Fri Apr 08, 2022 9:42 pmIs that a problem, I'd get bored with a 70ish bhp road bike within a few months, weirdly I think it's a nice amount of power for a track bike, you have to thrash it to make progress.weeksy wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 7:48 pmTbh, I should have kept the xsrDodgy knees wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 7:29 pm I've never had a bike that I've been 100% happy with, fizzy aside. It's the lazy grunt of bigger capacity bikes that I've always loved. On my Zed,coming out of a 30mph limit in 6th I just need to roll on the throttle and it pulls like a tractor from nowhere. A lazy man's bike.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Sat Apr 09, 2022 8:48 am Last year I'd have said the same, but having another 100+ bhp bike has reminded me how much I enjoy acceleration, I'm going through the back tyre really quick, it's over half worn after 1400 miles.
Been years since I've had a big bike but must say I'm really enjoying that about the GSXS, lots of torque from low down and use any gear you like pending your moodSkub wrote: Sat Apr 09, 2022 11:59 amIt's the lazy grunt of bigger capacity bikes that I've always loved.
