Tis a work of art.

How about a lockdown restoration project? Would you hand over £3550 for this one?

I wouldn't, and that looks like a KH500 rather than an H1

inewham wrote: Thu Jan 21, 2021 3:17 pm It is a H1 it has the old style front caliper, KH's have the same type as Z650. Sadly 3K seems to be the going 'chancer's' rate for a rusty H1.
However it does have some plus points, a clutch cover that hasn't been smashed by the brake pedal, an original set of exhausts that don't look like they've been up the road, all the tin on the forks still seems to be there etc.

I wouldn't but someone will probably restore that.
I hope so too,but it's hard to imagine there's any money to be made on the finished article when you start off on square one for 3.5k.

I know a chap who has sunk over 10k into an old Suzuki GT550 and it's not finished. It better be a labour of love, because he's not getting much of that back again.

Second only to carbon wrap in my eyes :D It would be first, but I do have to admit the welding is alot more difficult.

It just looks like someone's final exam piece from advanced welding school or something. Especially in that kinda bike where it clearly ain't needed....at least in MotoGP they're doing it for good reasons like making very tight bends.

If I had to ride a 600 Blandit, I probably wouldn't mind if it looked like this...

That's reasonable. There's a race series for 600 Bandits, a couple of them were at Snetterton in the same group as me, they seemed to handle alright and were a little quicker in a straight line than my FZR400.

Formula Prostocks who race with NG have a class for them. I shared a grid with them at Thruxton once. They trashed the DesmoDue's down the straights, but were totally outclassed on the brakes/corners.

Ha, I remember phoning the factory to put my deposit down for one - and five minutes into the conversation my spidey sense was tingling so badly I thought I was being paranoid, but trusted my sense of self preservation and kept my money in my bank.
Best twenty five grand I never spent.

Can't think why but I like that :wtf:

Maybe it reminds me of the bikes I grew up looking at as a pre-teenager?.... Don't think I'd want to pay £3.5k for it though.
