Re: In todays news...
I thought the USA was £31t in debt? Where does the money come from for such ideas?
Re: In todays news...
Not really, as in a pub, you pay your money, you get a drink. You don't then get banned from all pubs for getting a drink each time you get one, like you do with gambling, if you're good, you'll find you're banned from all outlets. Pubs don't lure you into a false sense of winning, taking your money, making you feel like you're about to win, taking more money from people who aren't thinking straight. At least in a pub, you'll get a drink each time you buy one and most people really do know when they've had enough.Pirahna wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 1:27 pmI see it as no worse than pubs and alcohol.demographic wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 1:24 pmI'm another one in agreement on the subject of gambling, its bloody corrosive to society and to add to it much of the money goes abroad to tax havens.

Re: In todays news...
"We" do not think that at all. Your claim that the Meteorological office is running some sort of scam or disinformation campaign is untrue.Ant wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 10:03 am And we thought the Met was bad......even the top of the Pleece watchdog was at it...

I asked you to back up your claim and you did not, therefore I conclude you do not have any evidence for it.

I don't think the Metrological Office has anything to do with the Metropolitan Police, but you know, anything goes I suppose, I'll assume you didn't look at the link.Screwdriver wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 10:37 am"We" do not think that at all. Anyway, back onto the previous subject which you've confused the Police with, I didn't make the claim, a scientist did. It was on an interview on Talk Radio, I can't remember the presenter, I had a look through the podcasts but it's too time consuming.
So, if you're determined enough, Talk Radio, a few weeks or so ago.....

You are one of a few who is happy to speak their mind and whose let's say "right wing" tendencies as portrayed by the left wing media, I don 't often disagree with (in principle). So I'd just like to make sure you're not picking up the wrong end of the stick here. I know the "incident" you refer to which was a nasty bit of disinformation at the time....

You say that with absolute conviction. Can you be sure? It wouldn't surprise me at all if it is true, as a lot of people are in it when there's money to be made.Screwdriver wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 1:01 pmThis is what you said and it is simply not true.Ant wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 6:44 pmOver here, the MET Office have also been caught red handed altering historic data to meet a political agenda.....ZRX61 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 6:06 pm Oops....

Mmmm, was he the top of the 'Pleece watchdog' back in October 1985 and March 1986?
Now don't get me wrong; if he's guilty of these offences I'll be wondering how he got through any vetting procedures there may have been when he got his top job but if the allegations only came to light in the last few months you'd probably have to say 'the top of the Pleece watchdog' wasn't necessarily at it at all.

That's the figure they talk about... Thanks to creative accounting they ignore all sorts of future obligations, the real number is said to be around $180Trillion.... & people claim a mere $31T is unsustainable... scared yet?

When the USD is no longer most of the world's reserve currency, it's time to be scared. As long as the rest of the world is effectively bankrolling the USD it's not really a problem.
However, if and when the USD does lose top dog status, things will get very interesting very quickly.

No no. After you. I insist.
You said:
And I am saying that is absolutely not true.
There are very few places where you can rely on the news. Well respected scientific establishments is perhaps the last bastion of truth. Yes I appreciate their results, papers, publications etc. are commonly bastardised by the mainstream media but this is one place where you can easily find the source for information. They publish data regarding those observations and peer reviewed documentation so that you can see why the author has come to whatever conclusions they may suggest.
