Seems like the Mav to KTM move happened very quickly. and again it seems that for Mav the human, 'family' side of things is at least as important as the bike package. This makes me think that Mav wasn't entirely feeling the love at Aprilia, otherwise I think he'd have stayed put. It seems that Pit Beirer really understands this and could almost be accused of blowing smoke up Mav's arse in this piece:

Quite frank on his being a bit fragile, too. Looks like they're going to try making him feel warm & fuzzy all season long.

A move to Honda would be a very bad idea.

It's either getting much more likely or much less likely...I don't know which.

I’d love to see him go there and do well obviously but let’s be honest at this moment and time MotoGP is absolute wank. If he went though I’d watch just because he’s there, it would be a great loss to WSBK if he went, I’d like to see him do the 2 years aboard the beemer but I suppose if he wins the championship this year then fair enough move on to GP and see how that goes, but I’m sure it would take time but when he gets the hang of it I’m sure he’ll be at the sharp end all the time.

As long as he's not on a Honda or a Yamaha?!!

Bez joins Jorge Martin in the factory Aprilia team for 2025:

That looks a really strong team to me. If Priller can close the (small) gap to Ducati, they have a realistic WC chance.

I agree!

I'm just interested in how things end up at Pramac, now.

I really hope Pramac go with Yamaha. That would put the cat among the pigeons... :D

How? They'd just have the 4 shittest bikes instead of just 2

Ducati have a very sizeable advantage over the rest of the grid because they have input from 8 riders to develop their bikes. The maximum any other manufacturer has is 4 riders. Yamaha only have 2 riders on their bikes and if they were to increase to 4 riders (2 teams) then they would at least be on par with the rest of the manufacturers; KTM, Aprilia and Honda all have 2 teams x 2 riders. I'd just like to see a degree of parity restored.

And the award for shittiest bikes on the grid currently sits squarely with Honda. Yamaha at least do seem to have the semblance of a clue.

Ducati have 8 riders because their bikes are better, it's not better because they have 8 riders.

Maybe. Possibly.

Whether it's Honda or Yamaha, well sure. But still I don't see why it would put any cats anywhere near any pigeons

I think you'll find that while they only had the works team (and no satellites) they were close but no cigar. Once they had more riders giving more inputs and were able to build a bike that suited the many rather than the few they started winning things. So the bikes became better because there were more people assisting in the development process.

Ducati won't want to give up their advantage, so you might see a few feathers ruffled.

I could say the same to you...

The only reason I'd like to see Pramac go to Yamaha would be to restore a degree of parity. Ducati would still have more riders/teams than anyone else, but at least Yamaha would be on an equal footing with the other teams. It's not just that Ducati have the most rider inputs, they also have Gigi d'Alligna, so they have an (entirely fair) advantage over the rest of the grid anyway.
