Effin loved my MT09. Swore i'd get another and even kept, and still have, a full black widow exhaust system for one. Lovely engine with good linear grunt and a bit of top end rush. Argued with myself many times over which was better out of the MT and the Duc Hyper but I guess in hindsight, I'd have to side with the MT.

The racing pack with lower fairing is a nice option, and does change the looks quite a bit

Went to Germany with mates from here, one of the boys was on his. I sat on it in car park at Folkestone and later declined my offer of a ride, seemed very very uncomfortable. Cool as heck. But very uncomfortable

Love the look of those. Must be fairly easy to put a normal handlebar on what with the funny bicycle bars / top yoke they have - or are the footpegs different too?

That must be the only one left with the standard bars on. Everyone I know fits 'proper' bars to them as the drops just double you up and put too much pressure on the wrists

Unfortunately not, just saw it on thier Instagram page. I really like it overall, but the headlight seems far too small. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

No coincidence I suppose that all the ones I see for sale have the standard bars.

It might not be perfect but I'm struggling to see much that I don't like with that, it's the bike I would have drooled over in the early 90's, except it's almost certainly going to be a better bike than anything available in the early 90's.
I keep looking at TZRs and TZ250s but that time for me has passed by, but this might be the ticket.

I'll be going right past my local Yamaha place later this week, I think I'll call in for a brew and see when they reckon these might appear.
My mate called me last week and said he's very tempted to buy the RD500 looking one ready for spring next year, so if he buys that then I'll have a riding buddy again and he's gearing up for retirement at the same time as me, so in that case I'll be very tempted to put my money down on one of these GPs.

Even if I don't ride it much I'll be just as happy having that as an ornament in our annex as I would riding it.

I'll be making one of my infrequent visits to the NEC bike show just to get a good look at the XSR900 variants and grill the Yamaha stand people about them. The thought occured to me that the letter box headlight on the GP model could be greatly improved by providing a colour matched blanking plate to cover over the headlight and give the psuedo GP bike look. The plate would need to sit in a recess so that the overall finish was flush, of course.

I was looking at what you get on the CB1000R+ compared with the CB1000R, the radiator guard / grill thing is about £320, it's a bit of stamped aluminium sheet with some holes and a CB1000R logo.
