while bikes like this exist and the plan with the boy continues on it's path we're heading down, i just don't see a motorbike happening.
I don't put down many part of where me and the boy are heading in our plans... but it doesn't leave me much in the way of funding

Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
Buying from Superbike Factory is okay, but because of the numbers, they shift, its not a quick process. I'd paid for mine in full but kept getting emails saying I owed £50. Finally got through on the phone and sorted it. The problem was that if you buy online, they give you a £50 discount, but the admin dept forgot to enter the discount code when summing up my balance sheet. Also, even though you pay by bank transfer and they get it straight away, it relies on said admin dept applying the received funds to your account and putting down a £0 balance. Until that all happens, it doesn't move to the next stage of handing over to the delivery dept. Anyway, its been put out to SOS Recovery to arrange delivery now and I should get a call today with a date. Hopefully, it will be soon but the paperwork does say it could be up to the 21st!

Arggghhhh it can be frustrating not getting your toy as soon as it's paid for !Taipan wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 10:09 am Buying from Superbike Factory is okay, but because of the numbers, they shift, its not a quick process. Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
I think it's sharp practice to take the funds up front for stuff that's in stock but with no fixed shipping date. I understand why they do it but it irks me.
(Wife ordered something, they took the money up front. It's on 6 months back order! Not too agitated as they're a small Sheffield outfit that manufactures pretty much to order - and they're in recovery mode after going bust/getting saved. They're one of the last 2 companies of their kind left in England ).

Indeed. Been here a few times before, so I was expecting it, but the first bike I got a bike from them I was like !weeksy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 10:10 amArggghhhh it can be frustrating not getting your toy as soon as it's paid for !Taipan wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 10:09 am Buying from Superbike Factory is okay, but because of the numbers, they shift, its not a quick process. When you buy from them you have to pay a £99 deposit initially. This then gets you a personal customer garage area where you log in and you get your messages board, optional extras (warranty, cermaic coating etc), balance sheet abd payment links, and the digital pack. The digital pack will include a walk-around video and as many pictures as it takes to show you every mark on the bike and what stamps, if any, are in the service book. You then sign a "truth statement" to say you've seen all the pics and are happy to proceed, or cancel it and get your £99 back. Its not a perfect set up, but its better than other distance buying deals I've done.

This thread has made me happy and a bit sad too- Happy for the warm good-dad feeling
And sad as you've gone from you da man to proper beige in a bike choice
(Should have got another SH300, and I predict you will shortly )

Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
TBH the sh300 is the best vehicle for my commute! It's light, agile incredibly economical and I'm comfortable on it! But i fancy a summer of real bikes and not just scoots. Maybe I shouldn't be so indulgent?
Whilst I don't have to worry too much about commuting costs as I don't do as many miles as I used to, the CB1000R is probably going to be one of the most uneconomical bikes I've ever commuted on. I don't like wastefully chucking my hard earnt cash away, so it may become a factor?
Carrying heavy books around in a backpack is getting old too, but I'm reluctant to put a topbox and rack on the new bike, but it makes more sense than the additional expense of owning another sh300 alongside the cb1000. That said having a sh300 there for winter commuting and ferrying of camera kit and books is very appealing. Wonder where i'll be in 2 months time? Hmmm...

Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
I’ll grab some pics tomorrow or over the weekend, when I hopefully get a test ride on it. I can say it looks better (to me) in real life. Paint has a nice metallic fleck to it snd the tank looks huge?! Main thing I’m interested in is the seat to peg height and I haven’t even sat on it yet!
