Aye. Bloody shame.
But if you buy the enduro version and swap wheels, add a brake bracket and big disc it’ll be enough 👍
Booked flights to fly over Tuesday.
Will take it from there ;)
Excellent. Like Weeksy, I'd be really interested to know what you think. I loved my 690 but I'm not convinced you will, hoping I'm wrong though as they are cracking road bikes.

I had this dilemma not long ago...

I bought the Gasgas...

Why?

Well, for my budget, I was looking at 2-3yr old KTM 690's or Husky 701's, or I could get a brand new pre-reg SM700 with the remainder of 2yrs warranty for the same price... I also happen to think the bike looks really good in red, and I prefer the cast wheels.

As for differences...? Well colour aside, there's a few differences in the bodywork, the seats, the headlight unit and cowl (though KTM and Gasgas are the same here, just the Husky is different), but ostensibly they're the same bike... My Gasgas has "KTM" written all over all of the parts fitted to it, even the chassis sticker says KTM not Gasgas!

Got nearly 900 miles on mine now, have added a few extras including the ergo seat now too... Loving it so far! Now its had its run in service and loosened up a bit, its got some real poke up top. Still debating whether to go the route of an Open Airbox and stage 2 filter (and a remap) to cure the relative lack of midrange, right now it's got a real top end rush almost like a 600c sports bike though! All good fun...

We'll that was a bit underwhelming.
Spent 3 hours up in the mountain twisties on Gran Canaria.
Nice riding position, but a bit bland overall.
The roads seem ideal for what I thought this bike would excel at, but didn't reach the itch.
The GSXR1000 makes me grin stupidly.
Ditto the EC300.

This just made me smile a few times. I wanted wild. This is a bit tame

If I lived on GC I might go for it. The roads on our island suit the GSXR better.
I'll keep trying, but hopes aren't high.

A 400cc 2 stroke with 120 kgs is what I want.

Still, was a good day out for 75€
45 flights. 30 taxis.

Same weight as the GSXR and not as good a road bike.

You've got a fast bike for the road and you have a fast bike for the dirt. No other bike will compare to what you have and love.

So...

Get a jetski/seadoo.

No idea. When I bought the GSXR1000 4 years ago, it was British Superstock winner. Top of the game.
The GasGas EC300 is right at the top of the game.
Seems there's nothing to fill the gap.

I drew £15k from one of my pension funds on the advice from my accountant. Tax free :)

So the money needs spending rather than stick back in with the investments.

Boat? No.
Jetski? No.

Ideas?

I rode my pal's and hated it.
It would suit the roads on G.C. but not here.

Thinking about it, I had to push the SM700 hard to make it a bit exciting.
Same with my pal's 950 Duck.

My 2 give me that without trying.

If I was 40, I'd be prepared to push hard.
Now I want easy excitement.

Why not buy an Elsie?

You probably won't lose money on it. You can sit and look at it in the garage and remember the good ole' days.

If you want some excitement, try keeping up with your Panigale mate on it.
