Tmax alone was over £600! Even the little Sh300 was nudging £200! The price you pay for living in a loaded postcode and doing high miles I suppose!? Similar thing, my colleague lives in Erith and had a GSXR1000 but ended up on a little XMAX scoot as the insurance just got too much. Dunno what he pays on the scoot but has said he can see himself back on trains soon! Quite disturbing to think we're being priced out of biking due to thieving little fookers!

Fuck me thats a sting on the insurance...... My Ducati is 250 quid and thats fully comp with business use as a bike instructor added on as it was a 150 without that.

Well, it'll be insured one away or another, regardless of price, but more importantly, i just got off the phone with the dealers and it'll be here Friday, which is perfect as that's my work from home day!

The only thing that's expensive here is insurance.

My daughter lives in a village near Halstead in norf essex, so I tried a quote at her postcode and was surprised to see there is very little in it and less insurers quoted? I must be so old my age is working against me now!?

I got him to put mine (well, 100m away) and it was £950. So it's either the bike or the miles he's doing.

I've asked him to try an 1199 Pangiale and a 1290SDR
Then to drop the miles to 2000p.a

I also tried a Suffolk postcode, ip19 0ba, some one horse town and the cheapest there was £942.24!

Both quotes are with 12,000 miles including commuting

I had no pillions, no secure markings/security. 9+ years NCD.

Maybe claims ?

Just used the bike insurer comparison site.

9+ years no claims, license over 20 years, etc..., 12000-12999 miles a year. £0 voluntary excess, paying yearly.

Cheapest for the Ducati is £305.55

For context the Harley valued at £15k for 2000 miles a year runs me £250 fully comp, so yep either your age or your mileage is kicking you in the ass
