Going up yeah, but IMHO, I've watched the tdf for years and years and it was never for the cobbly sections, but for all the others, mountains, sprints, flying through villages. If they got rid of all the mountain's I would stop watching, with immediate affect.

I love mountain stages too. But they're just a part of it.

I’m with Weeksy. Nice to give some different riders a chance to shine. I think they should scrap the TT stages though. Or
At least ban TT bikes for them. The winner should be an epic all rounder not someone at either extreme of the power/weight bellcurve.

I think since the cobble stages have come in the tour has livened up a bit, but the best changes have been having short tough days encouraging all out from the gun. Not often you see a 5 hour cruise followed by a sprint on consecutive days any more

Can Magnus go again? He put a lot into setting up Powless yesterday but I don't fancy his chances on the big mountains so if he wants the Polka Dot for the 1st rest day then today has to be his best chance.

MvDP again - he must be fuming after missing out yesterday and there's no way Phillipsen will win today so might as well have a punt late on. Maybe they will send Dillier in the early break to work for him later...

I think everyone has conceded the green jersey to WvA already so I don't think the intermediate sprints are going to make the peloton stop the early breaks going

The man's not normal - they'd been battering along for an hour at full gas and he reeled in most of the other attempted breaks by himself until he managed to get in one, I thought Cort had got in the one that was going to make it before WvA dragged it back.

I'm sat in a bar in Troyes and a woman has just put a poster up for the woman's TdF on the 27th.
It hadn't occurred to me that they be seperate events!

Climb time !!!! It's hard to see past Pogacar isn't it...

Part of me thinks "nah, he'll just cruise up with the leaders and wait to see what happens" but seeing how he rides, that's just not happening is it... he'll go all out on the attack and destroy them again.
