Don't buy the Bell MX-9 as its an awful road lid. They come up on sale at Sportsbikeshop.com quite often, but don't get tempted.

Re: New bike day. The "I don't care any more, it's up to you" bike
I don't get why people leave them on. It's like leaving the protective film on your phone. It's the first thing I pulled off on my 1290!v8-powered wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 12:46 pm KTM still not capable of fitting the Motorex sticker correctly?

Weeksy,
You either need to give the Yam a fitting farewell or the 690 a decent run in.
I'm on the trip in a room on my own and would share it with you if it meant I saw you ragging a 690 again.

I had this discussion with Paul last night, I don't have luggage options, there's no subframe on the back. I also don't think a 690 going to cochem the day after picking it up is a great plan.

I'm sure one of the others would have room for a some oil and a change of y-fronts. What more do you need?

I'll have to try and pop down at some point and see it, before you sell it this time!

Nice little bag straps under seat. But again, the price has doubled in a couple of months. Our wallets are getting raped.

I use an MX helmet on my 690 duke.... but i iz ded ard an thatweeksy wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 10:06 am I guess the other question is now whether i go full Supermoto gimp and throw the MX and goggles into the discussion.
I'm slightly restricted by the fact i need to wear specs to improve my vision, it's not 'essential' but it's certainly better than not in terms of vision.
I've now found out you can get OTG goggles (over the glasses) which potentially opens up the options a little. But i worry it's still a bit overly gimpy and sad.. lol. However, it's also pretty damn cool at the same time.

I think fogging up would be the biggest issue though, i get that enough on the standard helmets with the glasses so i reckon it would even increase the fogging issues.
for some reason your link didn't show on my screenajlog wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 12:39 pm Back when I had a few Supermotos, I used those little car blind spot mirrors clamped to the handguard.
They weren't great but at least you had an idea of what was happening behind / alongside you, plus they are cheap.
Something like this clamped to the top edge of the handguard.
I have previously used bar mounted pushbike mirrors, they don't show a lot and it's not clear, but it is enough to see if your mate is still there or if the rozzers are after you !
Spotted an 690 R yesterday and it had the Power parts seat, it did look more comfortable than standard!
When I rode SM a lot I would wear silk boxers under regular boxers under padded cycling shorts #3panttechnology which worked really well !

I've just nipped into town on the Husky and that sort of bike is fun.
If I really want an SM I can just get some road wheels and up the gearing.

100%
They're just totally different to a sportsbike, but as you know I'm very much into this sort of thing already
I'm getting impatient now
