Yes, they are absolutely brilliant as a commuter. Took my last one up to over 80k miles and hardly any faults with it during ownership. During the time I owned it I did have a few bikes as often I miss having a real bike and it worked out well really. Maybe that's what I should do again? I'll maybe start a new thread rather than cluttering up this one...

Let us know coz that's the sort of thing our lass likes and it's her birthday soon.Count Steer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 2:28 pm Sort of a Christmas present as it was delivered on the 22nd - a Morphy Richards 'Clarity' soup maker. It came top of the Which? 50 best things of 2021 and sounded useful so ordered one direct from MR (at several £ less than other places, if they actually had them).
Just given it a 'test drive' and it's a 10 mins prep, chuck stuff in and press go. 21mins later, soup.
Whether it ends up in the deep, dark cupboard of 'really useful kitchen gadgets' - time will tell.
Main Christmas prezzy will be from Screwfix after 1/1/22 when my 10% off voucher is valid.

I got lots of Jack Daniels and a Lynx Africa gift set.
Oh and that new aftershave in the robot bottle.
Nothing especially shit this year.

Re: Good gifts, bad gifts, swap shop!!!!
Nothing spectacular this year, but some very thoughtful gifts from family members.
J.A.P. branded t-shirt and cap from my gf, along with a framed print of a J.A.P. speedway engine (bit of a theme there....)
Some nice framed photos from my brother, especially a lovely one of my father and my gf laughing together at some joke.
Oddly a Panini grill from my 12 year old niece.....

Re: Good gifts, bad gifts, swap shop!!!!
I see myself as lucky with being able to have such a broad set of choices. Weeksy et al; have specific requirements from a bike and it's a narrow focus to meet them. Whereas I just fancy different bikes and wonder what it'll be like to own/ride/commute on and sell it if it doesn't work out. That said bike weight and seat height probably limit my choices a bit today...
