Its just an age/mental barrier thing. I have similar thoughts cause I remember R1s being unobtainable to me when they were £8k

There was a time when I might not have thought twice but I'd struggle to justify spending five figures on a bike now.
From memory RC30s were about £8K when they came out in 1987 or 88, a GSXR750 was £4K
OW01s were £13K in 1989

To put it in context, thanks to currency fluctuations in the mid 90s top of the range bikes were nearly £10K but 5 years later they were £7K, in 2000 I bought a 2 year old R1 for £5700, three years later I bought a year old GSXR750 for £5400, last year I paid £6500 for what's basically a 750 Bandit.

It's definitely an age thing, as I get older I'm much less inclined to spend my retirement money on expensive motorbikes
I look at the resale value and depreciation, not the cost.

I paid £8,400 for my last UK GSXR1000 in 2013.

Its why I like a race can on a bike. At least they can hear you coming, sometimes! These days my interactions are more with scooter riders and cyclists though, as I ride alongside CS3. I don't have any option though as there are so many cyclists in the city they actually block you from turning left because of the road layout and cycle lanes, so I can no longer take that route.

That Nuda...

It's great fun. Some of my best rides ever on the KTM 990R.

Sadly no video of that, have a gratuitous picture instead.

Depends what you're looking for. I can thoroughly recommend the 990R but it has to be the "real" version and they are now probably as rare as hens teeth. Can't remember all the detail differences (in 2011??) but the one I had had the titanium valve train etc which later versions did not. They calmed it down, neutered it. The thing was an absolute beast.

It's also possible there will be some ultra low mileage versions because you really need to be in the right frame of mind to ride it. It was fairly expensive for such a single minded machine and most owners might be the wrong side of forty, scare themselves silly and just leave it for "special occasions".

It seems the highway code changes are now in line with what many pedestrians were doing anyway. Now, imagine it on an E motorbike. 🤫

I actually enjoy it since it's a different kind of challenge! But riding like this twat isn't essential, even in town.

I did think at least half of these incidents are his fault. Or all of them are half his fault. Something like that.

For example, hacking along in the space between stationary traffic and the pavement and then being surprised that pedestrians step out seems dumb.

It's almost like he's looking for those situations so he can rev his silly engine and put a silly video on the internet. What a knob.

A journey of continual confrontation. That's exactly what I don't need from any ride.

These days I try my level best not to have cause to interact negatively with any other road user,or pedestrian.

Looks like he's got his favourite spots where he has the best chance of being able film himself scaring people - like that road near the museum / Albert Hall which looks all but pedestrianised.
