So, I got the bike back yesterday. Received a text from the dealer to say it was ready for collection late on Saturday afternoon but didn't have time to get round before they closed. Arrived on opening on Sunday morning and surprise surprise, no bar end mirrors! Another mix up in communication. The guy on the service desk was very apologetic, but too late for that now really. Just wanted to get away and out for a ride. Who knows when the mirrors will turn up, they guy on the desk hadn't a clue.

Well at least you've got your bike but very poor service. I'd itemise everything with the dates of every call, cock up and what was said and ask for their thoughts. I'd especially highlight being without a bike for weeks which cost you £X

Given that a punter pays that little bit extra for the benefits of buying from a dealership,you've had very poor service. I'd do exactly what Supermofo said in his post.

I once went to pick up a new second hand bike with a friend and his girlfriend (it was for her) at a prominent west London Suzuki dealer. They wheeled her bike out and and when we looked it over the crash protectors she had ordered and paid for weren't on. We pointed that out and they wheeled it back in.

An hour later they wheeled it back out and said "Here you go". However there was still not protectors fitted. It took me a while to convince her they weren't on 'cos she couldn't believe they still weren't fitted, perhaps they were inside the bodywork. Anyway, eventually she got the message and went in to find out what was going on and apparently they didn't have any in stock.

This is the same dealer that charged my friend £400 for his first service, despite telling him it would be free when he picked the bike up (I was there at the time).

And it was also the sister dealer to the Yamaha place that when they serviced my R6, I saw them come in from the test ride with clouds of smoke billowing from the bike. I asked what that was all about they told me it was just a bit of oil overspill. I took a closer look and they'd left the oil filler cap off and oil was over the whole back end of the bike.

Dealers, eh!

Funny thing is, I got a link to fill out a customer satisfaction survey about a month ago, before this all happened. My answers would be very different right now!

Had a scare last night when I stopped off at a garage and noticed the rear brake light still on after stopping the engine. I'd put the parking light on when putting the steering lock on :lol:

That's a bit pants, my insurance has a clause about not covering theft if the steering lock isn't used - not that I'm worried, who's going to steal a 63,000 mile 1990 FZ750.

Luckily the alarm is screaming loud. And they let me park the bike below my bedroom.

Local Kaw dealer had a '95 or '96 GPz11 that sat unsold on the floor for about 5 years. :thumbdown: Finally some guy buys it, cash. :thumbup: Mechanic gave it a once over & took it for a test ride while the paperwork was sorted... :hmmm:
Daft fucker threw it up the road & rashed one side of it. :roll: Pleased me greatly watching the dealership owner almost cry handing the cash back to the non-buyer... :lol:
