The 18yr old was out of stock at the distillery so I settled for this instead.

Bought some of this Sat to try and found it nicely refreshing. Still tastes of cider, more like the Thatchers Haze but with a hint of lemon freshness. I like it.

Almond Milk :silent:

Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, well when in a meal replacement shake anyway, I'm not convinced I'd drink it 'raw'

Why are you on meal replacement shakes?

Tonight was appallingly nasty cheap white wine with the edge taken off it by some Hapsburg absinthe. Not much louche but it made it taste tolerable.

I'm still on Decaf Yorkshire tea. Some coffee in the morning though!! LOL

I did see some Porto Rose in Lidl - but really wasn't sure if it was rose or light port, so gonna ask some friends and maybe get some!!

I do really fancy a Pimms, but difficult to get here (and when we can, it's bastard expensive :( :( ) A friend had a Pimms on Sunday, but it was pre lunch and I'd not had breakfast and was driving, so figured I shouldn't :( :(

Because it's easier than thinking about what to have for dinner / tea.
I'm low carbing, and a fussy bastard, so choices are limited, there's only so many salads you can eat in a week.

I've been considering doing the meal replacement for a couple of months just to help sort my brain out regarding food (It was pretty good last time I did it) - can't get the one I know out here, so might be a bit challenging :( :(

They don't deliver to France! Other EU countries, but not France! TBF, it's not hugely important as I would need to do it in the interseason so by then I should have sorted myself out. And if not, I'll get it sent to Switzerland and have a good excuse to catch up with a mate!! LOL :D

Apropos IPA ales, I recently stayed with my daughter and her husband. They tend to buy beer in cans from assorted places, Brewdog and others that I have never heard of.

I sampled about half a dozen of things labeled "IPA" and I have to say I was not impressed. FFA* would be a better acronym. I am not that fussy, but most of them were dire, and none bore any resemblance to a real IPA.

'Proper beer' hard to get out here but local Lidl have started punting out boxes of 'Golden Ales' - a dozen 1/2l bottles of British finest for €14. Bargain. The contents changes from time to time but it's always decent.

America has some pretty decent local craft beers. These "IPAs" are not.
