I use the thin ones for making control cables but agree they shatter easily. The fibre ones are good for jobs like cutting screwdriver slots.

Got a rubber mallet, got a lump hammer, got a nylon face hammer with interchangable faces, a wooden mallet and various sizes of hammer for hitting things that are hard. but not a copper or rawhide hammer till now.
I remember my dad having a rawhide hammer that was handy for hitting engine cases and stuff and I've used a rubber mallet till now but I thought is was time to get a copper and raw hide one. Not got any plans to hit anything with it yet but I think I need to have one hung up ready for when I do.
I have a couple of Thors - my favourite tool bar none. :D (well - except maybe for the Wera screwdrivers ;) ).

These days mostly used just for tapping off the magnesium rocker covers on the Rockster.

I have a Dremel 3000 which I found in the loft. It's brand new in the box and I've no idea where, or who, it came from? ANyway, I need some cutting discs for pesky bolts, anyone recommend some?
I recently got some Dremel cutting discs (Dremel 688 kit) off amazon Turkey so I'm sure you could get some from the UK amazon. Maybe screwfix also have them. I don't have a Dremel but have a couple of Proxxon mini drills. The Dremel accessories like cutting discs are cheaper.

You can get replacement copper or rawhide pucks (I'm not sure puck is the right word but meh, you get my drift) to put in them.
I've only replaced the rawhide one so far and pretty much just chamferred it slightly to get it started in the hole then gave it a good couple of bats with a hammer to widen it once it was in.
I assume the copper one I have will go in the same.
There is a special tool that goes into a press that widens the hole and swages it back down (depending on which end you use) but I've never even seen one outside of on a picture so thats not happening for the sake of one hammer is it.

A garage won't be enough, I have a double garage and it isn't enough, even if I emptied out everything that isn't a tool it wouldn't be enough.

Aldi and Liddle have been doing very similar sets just recently, I bought one for my daughter as she's just bought her first house.
Seemed a decent set to me anyway.

Two this weekend, birthday money burning a hole and I’ve discovered Amazon Warehouse so saved £50 against the listed prices:

Only damage appears to be a scuffed outer box, I already have the 16G nailer and a load of batteries.

Decided on the snide Makita version at £20 rather than the cordless Ryobi due to cost and as I’ll only be using it DIY at home. Not arrived yet but due in a few days.

Plan is to make some furniture, nothing fine, but hopefully starting with a wine rack / cabinet once I’ve ticked off a couple of other jobs around the house.
