Yes, the RC30 is definitely an iconic bike.
I'm not into Jap bikes much, but I think it's a superb piece of kit and one of the prettiest bikes Honda have ever made. Technically not as advanced as the 45 but more successful in its own right and far better to look at IMO.
For me it personifies the adage "Horsepower wins sales. Torque wins races".

The ex WSB one runs, sounds really sweet, it has CV carbs but revs like it has flat slides, does riding it for about 3 metres count as "I've ridden an RC30" ?

Yes. In the same way I used to be a professional motorcycle racer. I was between jobs and my winnings were my only source of income. That £1.50, before expenses, made all the difference.

That's £1.50 more than I made racing, though I was sponsored (I got a good discount at the local bike shop)
