Would you need a bike to be 'thrilling' before you'll be able to ride there?

As for "cornish lane pictures"... The only picture posted other than one by myself on the whole thread prior to this post, was @Yorick posting his GSXR1000...

And beyond that... I don't live in fucking Cornwall!

I do however live in prime motorcycling country, on the side of the A44, less than an hour from the Welsh Border, and am absolutely spoilt for choice for excellent roads to ride! I also tend to do at least a couple of tours a year too, and plenty of 2 up riding... And I was INCREDIBLY explicit with my wants and needs in my original post... So can it with the "CG125 is enough for me" crap, please... It's fucking boring, and you're not making a point other than to make yourself look like a bit of a tool!

Maybe you need a Midol instead of a bike?

Looks like most things have been suggested.

I'd say that it's time for a month of test rides and looks at each bike afresh, ignore the negative aspects (there's a huge amount of negativity in a lot of this discussion, which I think is a bit unfortunate for the subject matter), and concentrate on the positives of each bike and each ride. Nothing is perfect, but one of them should stand out as being more positively favourable than the others.

The other way to look at it is: is there something that's a bit older that would fit the bill. Yes you'd losing out on the warranty comfort blanket, but a bike few years old that is otherwise ticking all the boxes will have a support infrastructure around it now that will make maintenance a bit easier.

Came on here to say CB1000GT but it's starting to look like they are cheap for a reason...
We went from GS1200 to CBF1000* & wifey much prefers it, thought about chopping it in for new but the apparent problems with the CB1000 & Hornets has put me off. Tried the NT1100 both dull & vibey at the pootling around town speeds put me off.

* Excessively grey and dull looking but it's our workhorse & I don't have to worry about leaving it parked on the streets in London.

Not sure how long they've been selling them, but I've only seen one & it was sitting at the side of the freeway at the end of oil trail.

By people ignoring the point of the thread, asserting their own prejudices and rules onto what other people should and shouldn't be able to buy, talking completely out of context and referencing things that nobody else can see/find, and generally by being a complete tool to anyone who disagrees with them I would suggest...

Clearly the mind hasn't developed as well as the body has it...

You're allowed to be irrationally wedded to your BMW Boxer engine and espouse its virtues to anyone who will listen... I have a very rational distaste in that the dull Boxer drone has actually induced narcolepsy (yes really!) whilst riding one, a feature I never thought could possibly be built into a motorbike engine but one unique to the BMW Boxer engine with its dull drone... Similarly the time I needed a pillion ride (when my KTM broke down ironically) it was on the back of a friends GS, and the dull Boxer drone sent me to sleep again... I appreciate this is a very specific problem, it's not a comment on the performance of the engine or its capability, I know that it has both in spades... But I need a bike to excite, engage and enthral me, not send me to sleep (metaphorically or literally)... Hence my severe dislike of BMW Boxer engines!
