I follow the GPz750 Turbo group on FaceBook. Might have to wait a while as roomie just got home from Tucson & I got a minor earful about the GPz1100... which started with "I thought the green bike was going somewhere before the red one showed up..."

But I managed to convince her that even though there's now three bikes, there's actually more room than before as I had a fairly major tidy up & there will be more room after all the Chrimble stuff goes back up into the attic.

Insurance Co still waiting on the underwriters to review the pics etc as of 8am this morning (11am their time) Hoping to get the bike over to AAA for reg/tags today as we've got another storm coming in later.

That was the good part...

Went to AAA early to get reg/tags etc. Line to the front counter was out the door & the line for reg/tags was the longest I've ever seen.. I get in the line for reg/tags (as I usually do) which is when some fucking jobsworth tells me I need to get in the first line so they can tell me to get in the other line for reg/tags. WT actual F???
Said bad words, gave him a fairly critical job performance review & left. Going back after 2pm

Bike had a stumble around 5000rpm on the way there, but ran fine on the way home.. I'm hoping it's the questionable old gas in it... and on that front I ordered a new fuel filter. Had the Wix part #, turns out it's for a variety of tractors (Farmall, Case, New Holland etc).

Return visit to an empty AAA. Reg/tags sorted. Gal behind the counter could be a bigger titted twin of Keira Knightley. She made complimentary noises about the bike while doing the inspection (VIN & engine #'s).
Bike was stumbling again in the same rpm range, along with tach needle swinging all over, but is fine below 4k & takes off as one would expect above 5k.. & gets real silly at 7k..
Tach needle would indicate electrical gremlin. Still not in the least worried.

Sussed the stumble. TPS needs tweaking a smidgeon. I even remember how to do it, but will await the manuals anyway before the laying on of tools... or a screwdriver in this case.

One of those tube nuts is missing for the screen, decided to look online...

Find some on Ebay, ordered two, by crikey they're proud of those damn things.

Still need to swap out the M5 JIS screws for the same spiffy Allen head screws I use on the ZRX & ZX11's.

New mirror will be here today. Shop manual GPz supplement arrived yesterday, main 1983 manual will be here today.

If you need any bits of the manual scanning and sending to you let me know, I've got a copy of the Kawasaki manuals somewhere, but I'm not scanning in the whole bloody thing, it's huge.

I have a pretty stout collection of Kaw manuals & parts books, but didn't have the GPz11-A1 stuff. Now sorted. For servicing work I also have 1981-2000 Factory service manuals which cover all models for each year & have all the gen needed.

Bought the GPz a bike cover... of sorts, to keep the dust off in the garage.
It's a 36x70in microfiber bath towel & is better than my bath towels. FFS.

Pulled that daft smoked plastic cover on the headlight. It has marred the fairing a tad & there's two small screw holes that need some attention from the plastic welder with ABS rod... Then touch-up the paint a bit. Rumor has it that Jeep Firecracker Red is the same as Kawasaki Firecracker red, it sure as hell looks it. So off to GhettoZone later for some paint.

Sitting here watching the telly when it occurred to me that I hadn't checked under the seat for the original owners manual... wandered out to the garage...

SCORE!!! (which is just as well as they sell for silly money on Ebay)

& then I picked up a battered old seat from Ebay to take to Dustyn to have it recovered like the one he did for the ZX11.

Saturday morning: Fettled the GPz, the raped ape has been reinstalled. Almost scared myself

Rediscovered just how bloody dire the mirrors are.

Arsebiscuits, it's still behaving like running out of gas while accelerating when the engine is cold at certain rpm. I can't believe it takes damn near 8 miles to warm up.
Gonna pull the allegedly new fuel filter the seller says it has (it looks suspect) & fit the actual new one that I bought last week.
May end up pulling the fuel tap & checking that too.

and now the indicators have decided to be intermittent...
They worked in the garage, including the hazards
They worked some of the time going over to Palmdale.
They stopped working in Palmdale
On the way home all four started flashing as I'd left the hazard switch on.
Turned that off & checked the lefts/rights.. they worked
Then they didn't.

Bugger.

Old bikes,eh! Every outing is an adventure and shows yet another thing needing tweaked/fixed.

and... Yesterday I was cleaning the left side outside the garage & noticed both rivets holding the Kawasaki badge on the muffler were lose. So they go drilled out before they fell off... riveting that back on is another job for this week...
Along with squirting some BLO down the hole where the lock cable fits in the frame, and fitting some spiffy aluminum valve stem caps on the wheels instead of the cheapo plastic ones on there now.

I also need to find out where they buried the turn signal doodads. 40 years ago I knew my A1 & A3 like the back of that thing on the end of my arm.

I also remember that some commitment was required to make good progress through the nadgery... so still debating between running The Snake next Sunday or pussing out.
