I enjoyed Neil Young, I like his 'out of tune but bend it towards the right note' style.
Beabadoobee is always good. Maribou state good but I prefer Holly Walker's vocals.
Still need to get Four Yet and Floating Points on catch-up but not much else floating my boat.

I saw him live in a small venue a few years ago ago - an even as a Rod ambivalent, I thought he was brilliant
I was obviously watching a diffent Glastonbury performance because that was just absolutely shite. Made Neil Young look good …
He should have just not bothered and sent the backing singers on for the whole set. Because they did most of it

Parcels were also great. I caught Kneecap from a livestream. I’m white and middle class, so obviously thought they were awesome.

I'd never listened to Kneecap before, so well done SKS and all the other politicians who have given them the sort of publicity they could only dream of, and thought they were pretty good. Reminded me of the Beastie Boys, and yes, I am aware that that comparison has some irony deep down in it somewhere.

As an 80 year old doing a 90 minute set I thought he was brilliant. He was losing his voice and missing the lower notes towards the end, but overall an oustanding set, especially considering his age.Mr Moofo wrote: Sun Jun 29, 2025 9:56 pmI saw him live in a small venue a few years ago ago - an even as a Rod ambivalent, I thought he was brilliant

Re: Glastonbury 25.
Just heard the USA have revoked their visas, scuppering their planned USA tour, and Plod is going to investigate them and Kneecap.
The Guardian wrote:Police investigate Bob Vylan and Kneecap’s Glastonbury performances
Investigation into public order incident comes as US revokes Bob Vylan’s visa ahead of tour later this year.
Police have formally opened a criminal investigation into comments made by Bob Vylan and Kneecap at Glastonbury after reviewing video and audio footage of the performances.
Avon and Somerset police said the performances had been recorded as a “public order incident at this time” and the investigation would “consider all appropriate legislation, including relating to hate crimes”. A spokesperson added: “There is absolutely no place in society for hate.”
Pascal Robinson-Foster, of the punk-rap duo Bob Vylan, led chants of “Death, death to the IDF”, referring to the Israel Defense Forces, and spoke of working for a “fucking Zionist” during their show on the West Holts stage on Saturday.

Why did BBC decide to stream Bob Vylan’s Glastonbury set and what will happen next?

The Irish rap trio Kneecap followed the group with an incendiary performance that included leading the crowd in chants of “fuck Keir Starmer”.
Earlier on Monday the BBC said it regretted not cutting the live stream of Bob Vylan’s performance, saying it contained “utterly unacceptable” antisemitic sentiments, while the US announced it was revoking visas for the band.
The BBC initially acknowledged that some of the comments were “deeply offensive”. It said a warning was issued on screen about the “very strong and discriminatory language” at the time.
However, the BBC went further on Monday, saying it should not have allowed the comments to be broadcast and would look to update its guidance around live events.
“Millions of people tuned in to enjoy Glastonbury this weekend across the BBC’s output but one performance within our livestreams included comments that were deeply offensive,” it said. “The BBC respects freedom of expression but stands firmly against incitement to violence. The antisemitic sentiments expressed by Bob Vylan were utterly unacceptable and have no place on our airwaves.

Inviting a bunch of drug-addled, middle class, flag-waving 'memory-makers' to go to a far off land and have a pop at the fully tooled up IDF isn't quite the same as egging suggestible epsilons to go and burn down a local hotel with a bunch of skint, unarmed people and hotel staff in is it?gremlin wrote: Tue Jul 01, 2025 10:24 amFuck all will come of getting loads of people join into a tastefully-dubious chant.ZRX61 wrote: Mon Jun 30, 2025 8:09 pm Apparently that Vylan chap is now reaping the consequences of his mouth....

I wonder how much traction this would have got if bands had suggested 'death to the Russian invaders'.
Meh. It's all another peg for the BBC and Muslim haters to hang their hats on. More faux-indignant keyboard jockey froth.
The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

Re: Glastonbury 25.
Bob Vylan's early songs and first album were awesome, second album not so much for me. Seen them twice live. However, they embody the sprit of punk IMO.
What was really funny, in the precise point he was making, was that the BBC had a headline this morning about the police looking into him right next to this headline
"Israeli strike on Gaza seafront cafe kills at least 20 Palestinians, witnesses and rescuers say".
The IDF have killed 1000s of innocents in this war, regardless of Hamas being arseholes. Bob Vylan getting a bunch of Guardian readers to chant Death to the IDF is nothing compared to the UK selling plane parts to Israel so they can bomb civilians. Only IMO of course.

It makes me yearn for the innocence of the Radio 1 Roadshow.
Never had all this controversy with Mike Read, DLT, Jimmy Savile, etc...
Wait...hang on.

Nail on head
And lots of people seem to think Bob Vylan jumped on the Kneecap waggon. This was back in Nov 2023 when no fucker had heard of Kneecap, they've been enraged about this for a long time. Although you'd have thought the BBC might have done some research on em
