Well done! :D

Has Cardington closed? They had been talking about it.
Yup it closed a while ago …. I had to travel to Oldham for my CBT1 and my DAS assessments…… roads at Chaddington are a bit more “challenging” when it comes to DAS ;)

Took the train to work today, so stepped out of my house, only to be confronted by the sight of two coppers on the street corner and a plod car parked up. I can imagine they must get really bored of people asking what's going on, so I never do. Turned the corner and there's two police cars. Again resist, but text the missus to let her know of the excited goings-on in the close :P She texts back saying there's a plod helicopter hovering over Chez Gremlin and now armed plod running up and down the close. Fuck! The most excitement ever to hit Oakwood Gardens and I'm missing it.

My neighbour, an ex-DCI is less reserved and found out that apparently there was an armed burglary in the close. Not sure how 'armed' they were, maybe a 'shootah', perhaps a frying pan or anywhere in the middle. Bit worrying, but I'm lucky to have a vicious, snarling guard dog, a.k.a. The Hound of the Stupidville..

Today I took wife to work. Came home, prayed with people online. Then relaxed a bit. Visited someone in hospital, prayed for them and anointed them. Going to head out just now and collect my son from the train station, he is back from Lyme Regis from his 2 week project staying in abject luxury and eating like a king. At least he had a good time and I know he worked hard. Then off to collect the wife. Doing Compline at 9pm, so no single malt until after that time.

Yup. Never go off trail by yourself. Just 2 of us today. 4 or 5 usually.

Always good phone signal.
We had another look today to find the path in the valley.
Hmm, certainly impassable looking from above :D

But gonna walk up the valley bottom tmrw with the dog. Looks stunning

I've walked 1km this morning!! :bblonde: :bblonde:

Not particularly fast, but without sticks and no limping! Also did the stairs from the ward up to the entry level and back (I try not to use the lifts in the hospital as if anything will need to be worked on, it's the knees vs stairs!!) going down to outside I did take the lift as its a sort of double 'flight' of stairs and pre walk I wasn't sure the knee was up to that. Coming back I used the stairs to get back inside!!

I'm a bit chuffed, although I appreciate it's not far (just one lap of the grounds!) but given that I only stopped using a stick on Weds, it's quite positive!

Mind you. There's a guy here that lives in Alpes d'Huez and has had a shoulder replacement that made me feel a bit silly - 8 laps at speed!! But a friend of his from the same resort is in a wheelchair (we sit at the same table for meals and so I stopped to chat) did point out that with no leg problems, he should be running!! LOL I don't really agree, shoulder issues and a fast pace is good enough! But he was quite committed!

Gonna talk to the physio tomorrow and see if I can replace the treadmill for a few days with a lap outside and maybe do a bit on the eliptical thingy whatsit (does a bit of arm work and the leg movement is good for skiing muscles :D )

Happy to give up the sit-cycle thingie if the eliptical thingy can replace it (in a way!)

Now to do some cross stitch and listen to the F1 qualifying in french - will watch the race in English this afternoon :D

Fed the zoo, had the dog out, cut the grass, put recycling in relevant tubs and about to go and take off a prop shaft centre bearing that i put on last week. Think i went to far when tapping the new one on as the dust cover is squealing like a pig being arse raped in a Saughton shower.

Up at 5am. Coffee, reading, went to take service and then a post funeral visit. Dropped into local café, bought their superb carrot cake for the family to enjoy and some bottles of the local elderflower/apple cider. Home to have lunch, probably have to nip out to Bluewater to collect wife and daughter from their shopping expedition... Cider after the evening service I think...

I did almost 2kms walking outside yesterday!! :D :D Also got two new mozzie bites as I walked after dinner (I figure I sleep worse at the weekends because I spend most of the days sitting in my room, so now I can walk a bit, I think I need to walk in hte evenings too!!)

the total for the day was over 2kms (I now walk to meals instead of wheel!) :D :D

It's been interesting trying to find where on my phone I have the steps!! The apple health thingy is just telling me I'm walking less on average this year than last, and haev walked more this weekend that in the last 2 months! Well, derrrrr!! LOL I use Strava for the outside ones, but not for wandering inside!

I'm half interested in getting a step counter thingy, but as I never wear a watch normally and would take my phone everywhere at home, its only for 2-3 weeks (hopefully) so I think there's no point really!!

Trouble is I don't carry my phone much in the week - no pockets and am going to various therapies, not for an actual walk. Spose I should try harder to carry it with me to keep a vague track.

Nowhere near the 10k steps that all apps/people seem to say is required! But I'm pretty chuffed that the most pain I have today after the extra walking yesterday is in my arm (too much cross stitch!) and from mozzie bites :D :D

I'll just sit here then.....

Walked the dogs.

5.6 miles, 800ft of climbing and a 20Kg weight vest for knee popping fun.

So far, a lovely little accident in a country lane. Pillock overshot a give way point and jammed his car up against mine in a narrow section

Took a funeral for a traveller family, packed church, standing room only. Lovely tributes by family, tender and moving. Burial at the cemetery was slightly delayed due to the doves being in transit, but they got there and were released by grandchildren. One of those celebrations of a life well lived, with school friends, work friends and many family members all sharing memories. Then off to collect wife from work, back out in the evening to help lead a Bible study at another church and back home to sort things for daughter to return some "prom" dresses that were the wrong size (labels are not accurate in sizing). Time for a drink I think.
