Spent the day being depressed and cleaning up the remains of our garden after last night's ice storm.
Nothing with 4 wheels survived intact either!
Oh well, it's only money!

Dordogne
Buzarre freak weather last night, ice blocks like baseballs coming down.
After a day of mid 20's there is still ice packed around the house!
At least we dont have velux........... like our neighbours

Definitely bizarre! Hope the house is OK and the vehicles merely dented but it sounds like the glass may have suffered? Glad you are ok - the garden will recover but it sounds like you wouldn't want a galactic ice cube on the noggin!....especially someone sleeping under a Velux. (Unlikely to sleep through it though!)

Got up, had a full English, waked friggin miles up hill and down!! We’re in Devonshire, near Woolacoombe in the caravan, lovely site. Waked Into town, then to Bulls Point lighthouse, then back to the site.
Sat and drank wine & beer, then cooked a curry and played with a Boxer dog.. now sat in the sun chilling, very warm, very sunny and due to the variety of drugs I’m on Ive gone red, not brown as I usually do!! Weird.

Fiesta has every panel golf balled, windscreen and rear 3/4 window
Sadly, A class moho has windscreen, 2 headlights, all the sky lights. Unfortunately i only have 1k windscreen cover for a 3k windscreen, hence the depression!

I had an awesome morning until 11.30!!

OT was fab - tiring, but fab
Pool therapy was even more fab - changed the 'float' (actually a 'foam' brick) that I normally use to a ball and also a hard foam thing that looks like a normal float. The two made for a lot more work, but all was possible - major progress!!

Then back to my room, shower and change for physio and as I was leaving, the doctor arrived (I didn't get to see her yesterday).

Good news, everything is progressing for knee and shoulder. Bad news - the CT scan did show up an issue with the metal in my shoulder

Apparently part of it has moved. A tiny bit. But also, apparently it had already moved a smidge on the last ct (need to find out the date of that one as I have no recollection of the the metal having moved?).

So I will be here for at least another 4 weeks because I have an appointment to see the shoulder surgeon on the 19th July to see what progress has been made on the rehab. If I have no pain and the range of movement is close to how it was (or better) than pre knee fracture, we'll leave things as they are but continue with regular check ups. Apparently the surgeon 'doesn't want to operate straight away' - I bloody don't want her to operate straight away either!!!!

FFS - every time things seem to go well, another curve ball arrives :( :(

Mind you - from now, I think I will do less on the leg and more on the shoulder. But also, I can do a load of leg exercises on my own in the physio room for strength and fitness, so there should be no issues with the leg/motorbike by the time I'm allowed to leave.

Downside is I REALLY need some more clothes!!! LOL Been wearing the same 6 tops and 3 pairs of exercise shorts since I got here!! LOL I have some jeans shorts and a skirt for weekends! LOL A mate is coming back from the uk in about 3 weeks, so might have to ask him to do an Asda shop for me!!  Gurt big t-shirts that I can take the arms off and maybe leggings that I can shorten!!! Much cheaper in Asda than here    Might have to get someone to go to Ikea for me for a folding clothes airer, then I don't have to wash stuff every day or two, can just do a big wash at the weekend :1 :1

Hey ho. At least I'm speaking a lot of french and often get asked where I'm from/what's my accent and get told I speak really well. If I can get the understanding to the same level by the time I get home, that'd be aces!! :D :D :D

Well today I entered the murky world of French insurance claims.
Still assessing the damage to the house/garden, but the car is (relatively) straight forward......or so I thought.
After a lengthy phone interview ( in French, obs), I was informed I would have to send in photos to corroborate the claim for damage. Not a problem as I had taken photos right away just in case they were inundated with claims ( they are).
So, I type out the email, attach 5 med res photos and...............get a 'sorry, these files are too large', so I send 3, yep, too large, so I try 1...........oh ffs, you're taking the piss now!
So with a flash of inspiration, I nip out, take a quick video around the car, pop it up on YouTube and send the link to the crafty cheese eating insurance monkeys.
Fully expect a reply tomorrow saying they cant view YouTube at work!

I found this hugely useful last week when trying to send a mahoosive file last week (and avoid our company's file-sharing policies. FFS I'm in I.T. the rules don't apply to me ...).

Simple to use too.

Took wife to work. Got home, started on sermon for Sunday, covering the service at a friends church, he is on sabbatical at the moment.

Midday visit to Critical Care Unit to meet with one of my parishioners, he is dying from cancer and has little time left. Anointed him and prayed with him and his wife. I expect to be on emergency call for Last Rites. A lovely man who has a deep peace and radiance about him, even though he is but skin and bones now, surprisingly strong grip. No voice as he has a tracheostomy and so I have to lipread him, which was okay. I thought he was saying I was ugly (which is true) but it turns out he was saying it was lovely of me to be there. Bless him.

Collected wife from work to save her a 45min bus ride, takes 8 mins in the car. We shared a beer then decided to have a treat, two scoops of vanilla ice-cream in a bowl with strong espresso poured over it. Lush. Pizza for dinner.

Relaxing for now and will take the service of Compline tonight as Vicar is hosting a dinner with the Archdeacon.

Dug some rhubarb out of my Da's garden, before the house passes to the new owner. Bunged it in a 40 litre tub.

I'm no gardener, but it was a grand day for pottering. I don't think I've ever pottered before.
