Finally got my lazy arse around to whanging up a couple of floating shelves in the bathroom. I did the usual man thing of tossing the packaging to one side, then look at the stuff to see how it fits together.
Since the fixings are hidden by the shelf I made up a simple template to position the holes for the bracket. All went fine.

When I gathered up the packaging,I saw a long piece of paper among the stuff. Guess what. A template.

Men are such dickheads, according to our resident expert.

Visited ‘Scotlands Secret Bunker’ although it’s not a great secret as it’s well signposted

There was more there than I thought and quite a bit relating to the Cold War.

Perspex screens like you see on old war films in preparation for a nuclear attack with a map of the UK and prevailing wind conditions to monitor fallout. Rooms with radar screens to track Russian planes and all sorts of other equipment.

I was expecting just an empty concrete shell but they had kitted it out well. They managed to get back most of the equipment that was in there when it was operational.

Worth a visit.

Just putting the finishing touches to the downstairs loo. She wants the mirror up, ok 'bracketry' i say.
Ah! So have to knock something up then. A couple of 30mm wooden plugs to fit the holes in the mirror, lined up nicely on the wall and just the gentlest of thumps and it's up.
Towel ring, no problem! 'Bracket?'
Off into the garage for a session with the bench grinder it is then.
All up and secure, she knocks a box over in the vacuum cupboard and fuck me sideways what do we find..........all the brackets!

But you have pretty toenails!

Dog walk before it got too warm and then repurposed some old cage lockers from work into a ferret run (needs a bed area but looks like it can contain the carpet sharks.

A shit tonne of physio with some OT added in. Bloody brilliant because I know it's working. But I'm bloody knackered now :( :(

My left leg is aching like mad, but equally that's good cos it means I've worked all the muscles! I should be walking without the stick next week, can walk to physio holding the stick (not using it) but she said only to physio, and must take the stick in case the leg gets too tired!! Which, after today, I feel is somewhat sensible!!

I had a tour round an RHS garden today with the curator, it was much bigger than I expected and well worth a visit. We saw a few different types of garden and as I'm remodeling part of mine I asked which was the easiest to maintain, I didn't like the answer much 'They all need a lot of work'.

Baby sitting the old man, he's 87 and just had a knee replacement. He didn't make it to the toilet in the night, sat on the side of the bed instead then went to the bathroom to try and clean himself up. This morning I've cleaned the bathroom, the commode in the bedroom, washed the sheets, the side of the bed and luckily he owns a carpet cleaner. He gets an hour a day care, she's just been and hosed him off in the shower. A messy morning for all concerned.

You have my sympathy, that's a horrible situation for all of you.

It's no picnic getting old. My Da got to the stage where he could do nothing for himself. Dignity goes out the window along with pride and independence. "It's terrible to be an old done man",he said. He was right.

Keep your chin up Pirahna.

I've just been for a walk around some of the garden at the hospital! First time unaccompanied - access isn't possible by wheelchair unless you have a pusher (well, one handed wheelchair anyway!)

Bloody hell it's HOT!!! My phone is suggesting its 30 degrees - at 10.30 in the morning :o :o And only one bench is in the shade in the morning

And, tried to find some of the yellow raspberries to photograph, but the only ones unpicked weren't ripe, so probably the same colour as an unripe red raspberry!! I'd never heard of yellow raspberries until the physio took me for a walk around the garden last week :D

Downside is that the short walk was a bit of a struggle as the replacement physio for yesterday (mine had a day off) saw me arrive carrying the crutch, as my physio had told me to do, and promptly took it off me and made me walk all around our floor of the building sans la cane :o :o :o Ok, it's good to practice, but she was pushing me to walk 'normally', which to her is faster. Normally, I do not walk fast at all, ever!! So not only did I go further than ever before, but faster. So this morning's gentle bimble was With the crutch and a lot slower than planned - achy and stiff knee but didn't want to do nothing!! Looking forward to my phsyio coming back on Monday! LOL

Currently sitting in my room with the MotoGP on the tablet :D

Put a rack on my eBike. I was able to use the frame points rather than the adjustable brackets that came with it, so its a tidy job and looks factory. Just need to find the right sized panniers now.

Had the car serviced... and had to spend 6 hours in Meadowhall while it was done.

I usually do it myself, but this car is the kind of premium thing needs proper history to help maintain some value.

I used an indy... that bought all the bits from the MB stealership and even updated the MB online servicing portal, for half the price MB wanted... and it was still £500!!!

Any weight on that coupled with potholes will put pressure one the frame that it's not designed to cope with, I'd worry that the frame will break after a while.
How long a while is depends on weight, road and miles so you may never get a problem. Can it be changed so the support goes verticality down to fix by the spindle?

It's only for fruit, veggies and bread when we're away in the Camper.
