I hate the reason for the war photographs/photographers. But the emotion and stories that each photo shows are often incredible. Don McCullin is another. His photos made a massive impact on me at college. Sadly, family pressure and lack of tutor support meant I never studied photography - let alone got to do 'social' photography (I'm not daft enough to think I could ever get to do war photography)

Their lives would have been impacted as much as (if not more) than many of the military as they saw different things and often were famous for images that affected them more than anyone could know :(

I had an offer to study it at Bath. Life took me in a different direction.

Page edited a book with Horst Faas about the photographers who died for their art, 'Requiem'.
