Bloody hell!! My BIL has recommended a friend that does Air BnB - here's hoping she's not that sort of price.
I was looking for a travelodge/premier inn for about 60 ish quid
Bloody glad I have places to stay the other nights!! Damn!!!

Just back from the local bar, I would have stayed longer but had a couple of planks telling me about chemtrails.

Not used Travelodge for years ( a bit scummy) but Premier have upped their prices massively in the last few years

Yup. As much as they advertise cheaper prices, it's usually somewhere you don't want to be on the wrong date.Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 7:10 pm More or less par for hotel in England. I have just bopked one in Watford for £97.
Often, breakfast and parking are extras. And if you want the cancellation option.

Try the prices in the Chichester one when there's something on at Goodwood.MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 7:49 pmCosting me £140 for a room in Manchester for one night in the middle of October ffsCousin Jack wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 7:19 pm Not used Travelodge for years ( a bit scummy) but Premier have upped their prices massively in the last few years
Dynamic pricing - on steroids.

To be fair, this is right next door to the Manc Arena on a concert night.Count Steer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 7:58 pmTry the prices in the Chichester one when there's something on at Goodwood.MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 7:49 pmCosting me £140 for a room in Manchester for one night in the middle of October ffsCousin Jack wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 7:19 pm Not used Travelodge for years ( a bit scummy) but Premier have upped their prices massively in the last few years

7AM an email arrives from head office. It invites me and nearly 300 other people to a teams meeting at 10AM
This doesn't sound good.

I actually only have 2 weeks left on this contract. Apparently the French government will pay our wages but it can take a few weeks. I regard myself as fortunate that if those wages never arrive, I'm OK.Rockburner wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 11:27 amNot good. One big PITA is that I leave things in the mobile home over winter, I have done for the last few years. Now I need to take everything away as there's no guarantee this mobile home will even be here next year. I no longer own a LWB campervan. Ive got to get 3 bikes, a motorbike, surfboard, TV etc etc transported with a Dacia duster and single bike trailer!!

Hmm...how mobile is this mobile home?
(I assume way too big to tow behind a Duster....).

Surfboard and 2 motorbike's worth of wheels on the roof of the car, biggest bike on the trailer, other 2 in the boot. TV on passenger seat.Jody wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 2:50 pmI actually only have 2 weeks left on this contract. Apparently the French government will pay our wages but it can take a few weeks. I appear to be on a "list" and in the last week have had about 5 emails with parcel tracking info leading to a bogus DHL website and a minor customs charge.

"My dear Doctor, they're all true."

Discovering that my Home & Contents insurance doesn't cover the theft of the Puch.
Yes - I know it's a "motorcycle" but it's not a road-registered vehicle so I never bought "normal" bike insurance for it, assuming it would be covered under "personal belongings". (not even sure where I'd get insurance cover for it anyway tbh.. is there specialist insurance for motorised cycles that never leave the premises??)
buggeration.
