Ditch the road bike and have a track bike each. Road riding doesn't always fill me with excitement, but a trip with a night out or trackday really does.
I liked that post, not for the suggestion for @weeksy to get a trackbike, as I'm sure that wouldn't do it for you, but the second sentence which I completely agree with - I've ridden a bike every day for the last 4 days, and it's been brilliant.
Thursday was a spur of the moment last minute (booked less than 24hrs before) trackday at Donington which although it didn't involve a night out / overnight stay (which is usually a big part of the fun/adventure for me on them these days) was brilliant, and the best track day I've had in absolutely ages- I calculate it at approx £220 in fuel, diesel, snacks etc, so yep, yep it wasn't cheap but it wasn't £350 either
And the last 3 days have been out on the roads on the Multi with OH- it wouldn't have been half as enjoyable by myself but it's been so enjoyable- I'm off to Belgium on it for a little week-end away next month, and of course at least Kev and I (and hopefully @Dodgy knees and you, maybe one of two others too ) will get to meet up somewhere in Wales/Derbyshire/Yorks etc on the June Jolly-boys trip- as Dodgy says the trips out can be great fun, as of course you know as well as anyone

The itch to ride might go dormant for a while but it never goes away completely.
I'm guessing it was because you were doing other non-motorbike stuff or had commitments that meant you couldn't do anything on the bike, as we both know how much fun it can bring when the time is right and you fancy it ( and of course they offer far more scope for cleaning and removing/re-fitting bits than with pedal bikes

)
P.S.- And good luck to you and @Welsh Muffin for today- looks like a perfect day for it!
I hear you. I'm just not sure when that time will arrive these days.
Our Wales trip was epic. But I'm pretty sure the weekend picked I'll be in Bala racing with the lad.
If you are, maybe we'll engineer our route so we're in Bala ( or wherever it is you stay, if you stay a night) the same time as you and James are

Not been out with the usual lads for a while, so hadn't noticed the grip dropping. Had a sudden awakening Saturday and had to ride around a couple of tough climbs.

The Kindness Of Others
Visited Lidl this evening to pick up a few odds and ends. Went to pay the £14.90 only to discover my wallet was not in my usual place - in my side satchel. Panic! Told the young man on the till to put my shopping to one side. Did I drop it outside? Leave it in the shop I had previously visited? I legged it back to my car - heart thumping away, opened the door and there it was. It had fallen down from the back of the seat.
I made my way back into the shop and said: ‘I can pay now. I have found my wallet. Phew!’ The young man said: ‘No need to worry, the lady who was waiting behind you has paid for your shopping.’
I was gobsmacked - still am. As I was going back to my car I saw her leaving in her car - I think it was her. I gave a bow and blew her a kiss.
What a lovely and very kind human being.
I think I’ll donate the amount of money she paid to the helicopter biker ambulance service.

Got busy with the Karcher at the weekend and jet-washed the drive. After letting it dry for a day or two, went to B&Q to pick up a couple of bags of kiln-dried sand to brush into the gaps. Grabbed a supermarket-style trolley, went to the back of the store, took two bags from the back of the stack, as I'm not daft, no ripped bags for this smart cookie. Put them in the trolley, went to pay. Halfway down the store I remembered I needed a new floor mop, so took a right down the aisle, perused the wares, made my choice and carried on to the paint section, where I picked up some colour cards for a potential bit of sprucing up at Che Gremlin.
All the time my feet were slipping on grit and stuff and I'm thinking, 'They really need to sweep the floor in here'. It was then that I noticed a pile of sand at the paint colours section. And a trail of sand stretching back to every place in the store I'd visited, with corresponding piles of sand everywhere I'd stopped.

Clearly my quality control in terms of 'holes in bag' is not quite as rigorous as it should be. One hole right in the corner, happily spilling sand in a regular stream.
I offered my profuse apologies to one of the girls working in there and explained. She was very gracious about it, but I suspect I was not the most popular customer that day.....

Didn't someone else on here - I wanna say Savio - have a similar experience in B&Q, only rather than spilled sand it involved a small child and a display toilet?

Funeral visit with a family whose mum's funeral I am taking tomorrow. I spent time chatting with them and said a few words of prayer around the casket with the family. Then to the church to sort out the various admin things, sat with a lady who came in for a "sit in a safe holy place" and consoled her. Spent a bit of time with the toddlers group after that, went home had smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich (proper vicar food that) and then did some prep for another funeral in May. Loaded dishwasher, hung up the washing and did some cleaning. Eulogy all sorted for tomorrow, service is printed. Fetching wife in a short while, then off to do a Baptism visit this evening.

Sounds a bit hum-drum. Could you not throw in the gory details of a five day exorcism? You know, demonic possession, flying furniture, holy water being throw about, cries of 'The power of Christ compels you!!' and all that stuff?

Well I did a funeral today where I did fling about holy water, but it was symbolic of her passing through Christ's death into His life. So yes, I can do some drama, but I thankfully have not had to do exorcisms, although I'm sure I've met people who should have that deliverance ministry applied to them!
Oh, and then I buried her!
Hospital appt was kind of a waste of time. I was supposed to be getting a new hearing aid and they went and put me with a locum person instead of the specialist, so they could not programme my new hearing aid. But I did get the new ear mould and they turned up the volume on this current aid as far as it would go, so some progress. New appointment now in mid May. Just before a Baptism, which involves more holy water! (and I have another Baptism this Sunday coming too).

Someone quite close to me was exorcised as a teenager. Not sure why but will have to enquire. They seem quite normal and I can't spot any marks like the number of the beast or anything. Must have worked.
