You're getting 50mpg from your GSXS, I'm impressed, I get 42ish from my CB1000R.
What
@Yorick said... Though not taken mine on track yet. 55mpg steady riding, 50ish "spirited" pace, 45 going for it...
It's a remarkably frugal engine if you're not riding balls to the wall.
My SFV2 was 42 overall, similar mix of riding. My Tuono 1100 V4 was under 36!!! But then my old Gen1 Tuono was closer to 30 still...
My 1290SA returns high 40's overall, 45 if i'm caning it and mid 50's on a run too... 23L tank means 250 mile range if you're careful too!

That's impressive mpg from a big il4! My MK1 CB1000R was only returning 44mpg on a gentle commute of A road and city traffic.

Battery on charge before being refitted this afternoon or Fri. Have ordered after being reminded by @Bustaspoke a speedo screen protector and rad guard. Initially when I went to order a rad guard last year Evotech were out of stock and then out of mind. Just went to order one and they have changed the design so you now have to remove the side panels and some gubbins to fit the guard. Checked the R&G offering and whilst generally I prefer the Evotech the R&G fits without having to remove anything but 1 bolt and 2 fittings so R&G it is.
Gonna try and get an MOT Saturday morning as it ran out in January when it's first MOT was due. Once that's done I can sort the tax and ride it! Just need it to stop raining now!!!

Did a 140 miles today, really windy but had a great time.
Get home and the Mrs is out so, instead of riding at a diagonal to the garage I think I'll swing left and right and get in straight. Only there's a fuck off horrible camber to the right as the ground slopes away. Yup, you guessed I get it wrong going to slowly, can't get the lock, go to put my foot down but the slope means I'm off balance and can't hold the bike. Down it goes at standstill
I think I've got off lightly. Peg has snapped, but rear brake lever is straight (I think) and hardly marked. End can has some scuffs but the ones on the can have brushed off so only the end cap, which I might be able to replace. Looks like the can bent in and touched the swingarm but only enough to slightly mark the paint, can't feel it and there's a very slight dent on the inside face of the can. But I think the footpeg assembly and can are all straight looking now...I think.
Main worry was engine/frame/tank/bodywork etc but it looks like the R&G did its job. I can't see any damage at all other than a scuffed bung. The front brake lever is straight and has 2 very small scratches but that's all I can see. Fork protector is unmarked as is swingarm bobbin. So think it landed on the main frame bung (which I think is still straight), the exhaust and the peg.
I'm hoping a new peg and maybe an exhaust end cap and you'd not notice other than the scuffed bung. So think (hope) I got off lightly.
But so pissed off with myself. If I'd have ridden in as normal I'd have been fine, same deal as the seat yesterday. I've not dropped a bike since my 125 when I was 18. I'd spent all day riding extra carefully too as first ride in 4 months and the wind was really strong.
Still on the bright side if I can get on with the missing 2 inches of peg I might be able to ride it tomorrow. Initially had an engine light/code which panicked me but it was in gear so guessing stalled and on its side. Back in neutral, ignition off/on and it went away and started fine.
Think I've fucked my knee picking it up, and will probably feel it elsewhere later. Am medicating with beer

Me too. Sitting on the sofa with a beer thinking I wish I'd not have touched the bike in the last 2 days

Wonder if the camber/angle meant it didn't fold

These things happen, it's life I'm afraid. Thought big bike tax was £111.

Must have gone down with a clunk!
The peg is replaceable and the bung did most of its job.

The scratches are a bugger though.

Buggerbuggerbugger. Sorry to hear that...! Like you say, the R&G crash bung did its job and most if not all of the scratched/broken parts should be replaceable at not much cost, although the way the footpeg has snapped is very odd.
Damage to pride should be medicated away (as you're wisely doing...)

Plenty of zorts on ebay, some left pegs bit no right ones. I can get m&p specials but guessing they'll be crap. I'll keep searching
