Defrosted the patio beer fridge. That poor bugger has to work in the summer. Had to get hammer and chisel to it. The first pile melted before I finished the second pile.

Ebikes make cycling very enjoyable, especially for those who otherwise might struggle a bit.Noggin wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 7:52 pmI have a 'nice' specialized bicycle but I haven't really got the enthusiasm to use it. I suspect that if I did ever get an electric version, I'd do a lot more cycling on and around the mountain!! It might be quite good fun! But not any of that scary downhill stuff!!! So we hired 2 leccy bikes and did the whole thing.
Saw bits of the coast that's not normally accessible.
Lovely lunch and couple of beers.
The bikes were awesome. Hardly used the leccy on the way there. But as soon as we set off home, the wind picked up. When it howls here, you know about it. The turbine blades were going mental.
Was lovely to just turn the motor up full and cruise home
Missus had so much fun, she wants to buy her own
My wife loves hers. If she didn't have a leccy bike, she wouldn't have a bike. It's been a brilliant purchase with plenty of use.

Looked at a weekend away for me and Mrs. Gremlin to do some walking on the South Downs with the hound. Whilst LBC is on in the background. And I'm wearing a cardigan.
Fuck. I'm officially old.

I haven't done it yet, but later today I shall be in the pub like I was yesterday and the day before that. Way too much alcohol has been consumed!

Behaviour like this is only to be encouraged.
I'm sat here trying to work, zero enthusiasm for the day, also trying to figure out how to stop the bloody hound getting into the living room now that she's figured how to barge in. Got a small bolt and I'll drill a hole in the spring catch plate to receive the bolt.
I also need to clean the house. It's a shit tip at the moment. Mind you, no enthusiasm for that either.

Walked the dog, nearly electrocuted the dog after he walked into a fallen power line, fortunately it was OFF.
Stopped at the coffee hub (get me, so with the yout terminology) on the edge of the forest. Then went into the local brewery ale shop to buy a few beers for FiL and some bubbles for Mrs M as its her birthday today.
I will wash the car later after a bacon and egg sarnie.

Done.
Now listening to the hound quietly groaning and pawing at the door to the living room.

PAT Testing in the Church. I'm still alive, so must have done it right. Then an afternoon of emailing about forthcoming funerals and then a two hour funeral visit, followed by a 1 hour pastoral visit (during which I was mauled by a 2 month old teething Border Collie). The puppy was the highlight of the day! Bundle of happy dog! Owner is a nice person once you get to know them, but a tough old lady to other people. Now preparing a service I'm taking in 2 hours.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Had a bit of a weekend of it really, starting Friday! I'm freaking knackered - almost told work I was too tired, but coffeed up and went (if I had been actually too tired, I wouldn't have driven)
So, left here in snow, drove to Courchevel, got there a bit earlier than I needed to so had a quick coffee with a nice man I know that lives there Then picked up guests, drove to GVA (road was interesting in a few places, had to queue to get past a place below Courchevel where a recovery truck was recovering one of two cars that had had a head on meeting, then had everything except fog en route to GVA - rain, a smidge of sun, sleet, hail and snow!!!). Time for a coffee and a sarnie then picked up people and drove back to La Plagne - still snowing here
Going to bed in a bit - in theory I should get up early and go ski touring. But there's a good chance I'll wake up or pretend to wake up and check or pretend to check the weather and decide that it's snowing too much!! I really should do it but I'm soooooo tired!!! But, it's too busy to go skiing at the mo. So I might try and make more effort!!

If only....
It's one of those things we always think we'll get around to, but deep in my working class subconscious it doesn't sit right, having someone cleaning up after me. I have gardeners, but that's different.
Plus I'd be one if those people running around tidying up madly before the cleaner turned up, less they think we're a scuzzy household.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Just seen an avalanche warning for tomorrow 4/5. My physio has often warned me about ski touring early before the avalanche safety is done - sooooo, excellent excuse to stay in bed tomorrow morningNoggin wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 7:36 pm

Re: What have you done today thread?
Step Mother's funeral today. Only 6 of us there and a 20m minute service to sum up a person's life, which seems a bit short changed really? Still, if there is something on the other side, she'll be with my Dad now, so I'll take comfort in that.

Hope service went well and more importantly that you are able to talk and support each other in this time of grief. Good memories and strength to face the inevitable paperwork and red tape of dealing with all that needs to be done.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Got B-i-L over for 3 days and a petrol head mate invited us all round for the afternoon.
Me & BIL both instructed for MSV at same time. Him cars and me bikes.
I've been off beer a few weeks so we were soon in full bullshit mode
