British dude just won the alpine ski race. First win in something like 55 years apparently.

The only thing I know about skiing is that Alberto Tomba had a Cagiva Mito
Is he still going?

It was a bit windy up here yesterday, and we're quite high up and exposed. The greenhouse took a bit of a battering
Today dawned bright and sunny and flat calm, so I've been collecting all the pieces and putting it back together.

I got fed up with chasing polycarbonate panels across the field at the back of us so drilled the frame and criss-crossed galvanised wire outside of the panels to stop them blowing away.
In other wind related wind news (stop sniggering at the back ) lined the inside of the loft hatch with carpet this morning to try and keep some of the hoolie of a draught at bay - early indications are that it wasn't totally in vain

Been treated by some very nice friends to lunch at The Hand and Flowers in Marlow.

I've been driving around with s broken tracking arm for a while, apparently. I doubt Mercedes will be banging on my door to do any test driving any time soon.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Got my third pair of glasses in as many weeks.
I got my eyes tested and the results weren’t good. Barely legal for driving the optician said.
So I decided to go for bifocals as I had reading glasses already.
They’re okay but handy for both distances.
Then I needed sunglasses for the car in the driving prescription. I got them and they were great so I’ve ordered a normal pair to keep in the car purely for driving.
Full price first pair, 50% off the sunglasses and 20% off the driving pair.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Bike day for me today.
As the Ducati was covered in shite from 100 miles in the mud and rain yesterday it got a decent clean this morning. Once that was done it time to start on the Fazer as the rear tyre was down the the wear markers. Back tyre delivered from FWR this morning and once i got the wheel out took it to a local tyre fitter who swaps them over for a fiver a wheel and disposes of the old one
In between bikes take the mutt to the vet as he has a wheezy occasional cough that started a week or so ago and the easy remedies didnt work so that was 80 quid lighter for a grand total of 10 minutes in the building and some antibiotics. Hopefully sorts the little shit out as waking me by coughing in my face at 5 in the morning is starting to piss me off

Tetanus booster jab at 8a:m. (missus has been reminding me for ages, I've moved surgeries / countries enough that it's surely been at least 10 years, nobody knows, least of all me).
Over here you have to purchase the magic ointment at the pharmacy and then find a nurse to load it in you. I don't have a "carte vitale" , the nurse laughed and let me off payment. Win. I'm at least 6€ up on the day.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I need to check mine. When I went to the hospital after I cracked my head open on the floor at home, the nurse did ask when I last had it (Fck knows, as I don't remember getting one when I smacked my shoulder!). And, I can't remember if she gave me one then!!
Best go to the MT and ask!! LOL

Re: What have you done today thread?
I've done a little morning ski. Billette no mates, so back to normal then! LOL But this manflu is doing a number on me for sure. Only managed an hour Now stocking up - drinking loads of water and eating some veg heavy food as have a late start for work and I won't get home till 2am ish And that's via Tignes, so need to be awake!! LOL
Mind you, similar start time tomorrow, so contemplating getting home and then walking up. Cos, I'll have time to make it to the top of a mountain for sunrise, and also then get home to sleep before then next job!! LOL
Only thing I'm peeved about it that I will miss all three of the first 6 nations matches Gutted. Am seriously considering putting in a request of a day off for the last day of the series when there are three matches again!! Maybe!!
