It broke down at the roadside 18 days after collection, and was recovered on a truck.
This car has been back and forth to service on a bungee cord, the most recent visit ending with the dealer pronouncing it as “fixed”…..

Today's collection of "things you don't see every day"...

All at the same location... The Vinnie was one of six there & the Triumph Hurricane was one of two.

I love the Hurricane. Probably both unreliable and impractical but it looks gorgeous

Great number plate.
@ZRX61 are front plates required in your State?
It looks like a GB plate, but with a small Stars and Stripes flag.

It's a UK plate he bought on Ebay from a company that will make replica Euro plates for anyone who wants one. Questionable legality. Front plates are required, I forget to look at the back of the car to see what plate was on that end. It's one of Ady's car's. He has a rather nice collection:Horse wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 11:12 amGreat number plate.

I've posted pics of the purple RR, Audi & a couple of his Lancia's before (Integrale & 037). Someone on here was quite proud that he had something in common with the bloke (Ady Gil)... owning a a Fiat 127. I mentioned that yesterday & he got a real laugh out of that. Also discussed his Leopard tank "well they only cost about $250k, I could buy a bunch for the price of a supercar..."

From what little I know of 70s Brit iron, the Trident lump is fairly reliable when fettled. Great noise too.Druid wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 10:48 am

Both me & step dad had '75 T160V's...there was an awful lot of fettling. Good engine, carbs were *needy* when it came to fettling.Skub wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 5:57 pm From what little I know of 70s Brit iron, the Trident lump is fairly reliable when fettled. Great noise too.

Re: utterly random picture thread.
This is Mrs. Elizabeth Hanbury, one of the very few people from the 18th century to have lived in three centuries. She was born Elizabeth Sanderson on the 9th of June, 1793 at Devonshire House, Leadenhall Street, London. At the time of Elizabeth's birth, both of her parents were 44. Her parents were Quakers - John Sanderson (1749-1816) of Armthorpe, Yorkshire and Margaret Shillito (1748-1795) of Holborn, London.
.
They married in Devonshire Square, London on the 8th of February, 1786. Elizabeth was only 19 months old when her mother died on the 31st of January, 1795. A record of Elizabeth's birth was made at the parish of All Hallows-on-the-Wall.
She was well-known in her own right, other than being a notable centenarian. Elizabeth married Cornelius Hanbury (1796-1869) in Bristol, Gloucestershire on the 21st of November, 1826. In the following years, they had three children, one son Cornelius, and two daughters; Charlotte and Elizabeth, who were all born on Gracechurch Street, London.
.
Throughout Elizabeth's long life, she witnessed so much English history. She was already 45-years old when Queen Victoria's coronation took place in 1838. Elizabeth, having been the eldest subject of the Queen, died in Richmond on the 31st of October, 1901, at the age of 108. She was almost 26-years older than the Queen and she witnessed the Queen's entire 63-year reign, and outlived her by 9 months. At the time of Elizabeth's death, she was the oldest person in the United Kingdom, and one of the last surviving people from 18th century England.

Is 500 more not the return trip as technically it would have to be 1500 more what would not rhyme within the song.

Lionel Walter Rothschild's zebra carriage as it appeared on the streets of London in 1894.

He's not going to get very far with one zebra at the front having 3 legs and the zebra behind only having 2.Taipan wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 12:31 pm Lionel Walter Rothschild's zebra carriage as it appeared on the streets of London in 1894.
