If you can't see that an EV's battery is its energy store and the a IC vehicle's fuel tank is its energy store then I don't know what to tell you.

Almost no wear
≠ no wear. How much do they wear? The answer, as in most things, is it depends. But if they last as long as the battery I suppose that's a win.
