Every morning I take the dog on 4 mile walk including a mile of sea front.
Every day we see loads of folk just having fun on the beach.

Forgetting the shit they've left behind in the UK.

Cash is used a lot more over here and the self service tills that take it. Bunging in all my shrapnel, about 25euro and getting 2c change. Beats counting it.

The other day a longstanding internet weirdo* friend asked me for my address (had read stuff in various places and thought I needed a cheer up, I've said to family before, when I stop posting about my life on FB and just share random shit, I'm hiding!!)

Yesterday I remembered to check the post box on the way to work - didn't have time to open and look before work so took the package with me to the shuttle I was doing because I get a minimum of 20 mins at the start point before I have to go pick up passengers

* I have no idea if this friend is actually weird!!! I just called my forum/FB friends my "internet weirdo friends" and it's stuck!!!

Some people have a knack of finding the right stuff for someone they've never actually met!! I do so LOVE my internet weirdo friends (yes, all of you included!) - you've all kept me fighting on for too long, not sure I'd be even half as sane as I am now without you all (not that I'm remotely sane of course!!)

Anyway, I now have an emotional support turtle - he sits on the dash of the bus to keep me smiling! Well I did laugh out loud when I found him in the package!

And a freaking awesome crystal tree :) :) Will spend some time making the branches more open but already looks gorgeous

Internet weirdo friends ROCK, from whichever place/social media/etc - it doesn't matter where we "met" or that we haven't actually met IRL, we're friends and that's what really counts

I like sportsmen who appreciate what they've got.

Someone was whining about the new F1 car racing styles

He nailed it :D
However, world champion Lando Norris offered a different view to the Dutchman.

"A lot of fun," the McLaren driver said. "I really enjoyed it. Formula 1 changes all the time. Sometimes it's a bit better to drive, sometimes not as good to drive.

"But we get paid a stupid amount of money to drive so we can't really complain in the end of the day.

"Any driver can go and find something else to do. It's not like he has to be here or any driver has to be here.

In the square in town it's a wonderful social place and everyone's happy and chatty.
We meet lots of folk who become pals as they visit several times a year.

Such folk appeared tonight on a 2 night's valentine weekend.
Last time took them on 4WD tour

Tonight told me her job. Wow

She's a trained chef and now she works in a children's hospice. Mainly for preteen kids on end of life.

She says she really enjoys making every kids favourite food every day and seeing them smile.

Extra pudding? No problem.
Extra chocolate? No problem.

Extra chips? Yeeeaaah.

Last month they lost 14 kids.

It's a hospice, but they call it a house so it seems normal.

Imagine being able to make dying children smile?

She's an awesome girl.

Won $28 on the Mega Millions last night. Hoping for better things on the Powerball* & SuperLotto tonight.

Changed the batteries in the hearing aids so they are now operating as intended & not as earplugs after they mumbled *battery* in my ear earlier & switched off.

*and another $4 on the powerball.

Kippers for breakfast.

At hotel not home as we've got a viewing later.

I had scallops last night too. I do love a bit of seafood

Celebrations or hallmark days! I think we need more such days, not less. My wife and I had a 3 course home cooked dinner last night, by candlelight to boot! :D Wouldn't have done that if it hadn't been Valentines Day to mark the occassion. We need a themed special occassion day each month!

Just do your own!

You don't need a corporate marketed "hallmark" day just to show your appreciation of each other.

Or do you..... :(

And where, exactly, will the extra money come from to create this boost?

People only have a finite amount to spend, so if they spend on one extra thing, they're not spending it somewhere else.
