If you'd asked me a few years ago I'd have said definitely no. Inadequate charging infrastructure, too expensive, too many doubts about battery longevity and range anxiety. But those things are starting to change, and since most of our car mileage is fairly local (rarely do more than 100 miles on a single trip) it could be viable. Maybe if I'm still alive by the time the diesel SEAT turns up its toes, we'll see.

My wife said to me today that she's pleased for me as she knew the Tesla wasn't right for me. Which is kinda odd as she seemed miffed I was buying the Jag!?

I imagine it also doesn't take into account the hidden overhead that all EV batteries have.
On my i4 there's around 2kwh that is excluded from the capacity you are shown as available. The battery management systems will add some of this back in as the battery deteriorates.
The i3 was BMWs first leccy car and had a large hidden number of kwh, because they just didn't know how the battery was going to last long term, that's probably why the i3 figure looks so good.
